As long as Kendrick gets to that magical 5 inning mark, literally nothing else in his line matters.

I'm shocked that letting Kendrick face the lineup for a 3rd time isnt working again. Less surprising - that he's struggling the third time through the order, or that Farrell let him do it? I've been learning to take the good with the bad with Farrell. But the way he lets struggling pitchers have a long leash is the worst of his many tendencies to manage players in the way that he'd have wanted to be managed.

I hope that was the last time Kendrick pitched for the Red Sox. How in the world the organisation think thatthis junk baller is better than Johnson?

Vazquez is a stupid catcher physically gifted defender, but dumb. ADD: Farrell's worst attribute is his allegiance to a starting pitcher. He is always slow to pull the pitcher

Oh well. The Kyle Kendrick experience ultimately had only one possible ending.

This is what you get when you have Loverboy Farrell and Dave DUMBrowski as its leaders! What the hell has Dombrowski ever done in his life that would make the Boston Red Sox choose him to put the right team out there?

Do you all want to burn the bullpen in May? I don't like Farrell either, but come on man. Maybe you want to blame him for pitching Pomeranz and Kendricks back-to-back? I'm not sure that's on him, though.

It's a long season, thankfully or maybe not. All this (supposed) talent, I gotta say I thought it would be easier.

I'm not sure that's on him, though. Why would you need to burn the bullpen? One of the strangest things about modern reliever usage is the unwillingness to use guys as long relievers when the situation is right. Number 7 starter for twice through the order, followed by a serviceable reliever into the seventh. Of course the obvious guy for that role is Robbie Ross, who is in Pawtucket for some reason.

The Kendrick experiment is over. That's a statement. Not a question. Bring on literally anyone. I would try Velazquez. but yeah...literally anyone.

I'm not sure that's on him, though. You're right and I'm guilty of being overly critical of the manager. It is a consequence of expectations and hope. It is hard to evaluate such a long season in a single series, and I think a lot of us hoped we would get off to a hot start. Perspective and rationality is needed

Do all teams hit into Double Plays like the Red Sox? Might have to watch another team religiously to find out.

And thats ignoring the fact that theres a solid chance he wont get out of the inning anyway(like today) and you blow the game for no reason.

Would have swept the Cubs if Wright didnt go back out for another inning, Would have Swept the Twins if EROD didnt go back out for the 7th last friday night. This would be a closer game if they had a quicker hook on Kendrick. This is all within the last week but its happened alot. Thats just one stupid thing Farrell cant get a grasp on.
