C'mon JF, time to warm Kimbrel. The AS break is coming up.

Not aggressive enough with the fastball there. Nice piece of hitting, but I would rather live and die with the heat.

HUGE out by Beltre there. I agree with DOB about Pedroia's catch of that throw to 2B. Saved a base.

Joe Kelly has definitely turned a corner. His stuff is fooling good hitters. If he can keep it in the park, I don't care what is K/9 is.

I mean why can't Kelly be another Kimbrel? Why can't he strike out 2 batters per inning with that fastball and slider? There has to be some video that shows how easy it is to pick up Kelly's pitches. He did make Odor look like a fool there. He was selling out on the fastball and got the slider.

This could be a very good win. Feels like the type of game last year where they would've brought in Tazawa and he coughs up the lead.

I faced a few pitchers who threw low 90s in high school, but fastballs are straight and you know where they're going to go when the ball leaves the hand. A 91 mph slider though? I can't even imagine. Added to a 102 mph fastball? How does Joe Kelly not strike out twice as many as he does?

Does it seems Betts is too passive on the first pitch strikes?

*sigh* Is there anything more annoying than LOOGYs not getting LHB out? Yeah, a LOOGY not getting the lhb out when he's ahead in the count 1-2. Drives me batty.

Forgive me, but Beltre is so much fun to watch play 3B.

Does it seems Betts is too passive on the first pitch strikes? He is Pedroia's teammate after all.

Beltre. I miss him, that's for sure. If there's a way to go back in time and guarantee that the Red Sox drafted JBJ at 36 instead of Owens (we got picks 26 (Swihart) and 40 (JBJ) for losing Beltre), we definitely should have re-signed Beltre.
