I should have said this the other day....but congrats to Kyle Martin who is the first (and possibly last) 2013 Red Sox draftee to reach the majors as a member of our club. Asuaje has reached with the Padres. . Geez, thank you for reminding us of that 2013 draft.

This game will probably push Mookie's WAR to 5 or more...creeping up on Judge and Altuve. JBJ is approaching the top 10.

Matt Barnes has been very good since altering his delievery. Still walks too many batters however.

Awesome win. Gain some ground again with Tampa and Baltimore. Keep pace with the Yankees too.

Geez, thank you for reminding us of that 2013 draft. Well, Longhi and Dubon still around, but yeah, brings up a fun question about which is the "worst" draft class of recent memory... Seems pretty crazy that they ended up with three consensus top 100 guys in the class with their first three picks, and it's not looking likely that they're going to get anything out of it. Ball will be given every opportunity, and maybe eventually he figures something out. Stankiewicz could certainly become some sort of back end guy or trade bait, but he's never really shown any significant potential upside. Then Denney, well yea...

Speaking of old draft picks, I had no idea Ranaudo was pitching in Korea this season

I wonder how many Angel fans bailed after the top of the 1st facing Sale and 5-run deficit.

The Big A is nearly half full of Sox fans. Back in the early days it was about 2/3 full of Sox fans. But don't let that fool you. Most soCal Sox fans also enjoy Angel Baseball, though their ultimate loyalty is to the Sox. The Angels have usually fielded good teams with stars from Nolan Ryan thru Mike Trout, and their fans are very loyal. Best of both worlds, and the food, craft beers and Cali wines at the stadium are pretty good and varied.

I remember when there were posters (and mods) mentioning that Mookie should be the CF.
Apart from Kiermaier, JBJ is the best in the game IMO. Pillar doesnt have the arm, and neither him nor Hamilton can hit a lick
Also, the Mookie to RF seems to be working out well as hes well on his way to being the best defensive player at any position for two years in a row

While I do agree with that, I feel like Jackie and mookie are very close defensively with Jackie having the better arm and Mookie having the better range. I just feel overall it would be difficult to have them switch positions depending on home or away. Also, I don't know if it's just me but it seems like fewer and fewer teams are testing Jackie or Mookie with taking extra bases

Betts does not play RF. He plays deep 2B.

Knowing the way Farrell constructs the lineup, I think we can be resigned eventually to Moreland being the cleanup hitter (at least against righties).
Eventually the lineup at some point in August will be:
Betts (R) Benintendi (L) Pedroia (R) Moreland (L) Ramirez (R) Bradley (L) Bogaerts (R) Devers (L) Vazquez (R)

Moreland batting 7th? Also why would Hanley play first base with a RHP going?
