Remember when Xander hit strike 2 pitches?
Why is he not ambushing these pitches middle in?

14 scoreless and running. Was shocked to see Xander chasing out of the strike zone there. The saddest part is that this is only half as bad as the drought they had a week and a half ago.

Man, Pomeranz really pounded the zone against seager right there. Too bad that 2(!) different guys couldn't field it.

Well, this game is pretty much gone. I'll stick around for Devers' 1st AB. Other than that there's no point in watching this boring team. I was about to say this is the most boring 1st place team I've ever seen, but very soon they won't be in 1st place anymore. They'll be just plain boring - and unlikeable.

What do you think? Ben Taylor? Then Abad?

Pomeranz was never that good. Pomeranz has pitched well for a team with a top ranked ERA in mlb. But what are the odds for avoiding an mlb leading 10th shutout? For you naysayers, if Devers hits 2 HRs, we are right back in it.

For you naysayers, if Devers hits 2 HRs, we are right back in it. Timlin just made a good point - with the offense so impotent, it is putting extra pressure on the pitchers to be perfect - which is not possible of course - so the bad offense may also lead to less effective pitching.

Amazing stat just tweeted by Lauber - 57 of the Sox 100 HR have been solo shots. Wow.
Pomeranz - approaching 90 pitches in only 4 innings - with Hembree likely to be first in.

Mookie is the only 800OPS bat on the team.
