Extremely long inning here. Hopefully it doesn't affect Pomeranz too much, but he does have leeway to make mistakes now. This is one hit away from being able to withstand Pomeranz turning into Barnes/Hembree for the rest of the way. I wouldn't be opposed to letting Velazquez pitch the last 4 if it turns into a laugher.

need a GS. No team in the live ball era has ever won a world series without a regular season GS. (Fake news)

I'm sick of teams laying down for the Yankees lately.

There is no chance in hell that Pomeranz could ever pitch a complete game so just give up on the no hitter already.

That's what longggggggg innings do to a pitcher.

Vazquez' catching skills still needs a lot of work in his career imo.

one negative thing about Pomeranz, he displays bad body language on the mound at times.

This should be Pomeranz' last inning. So many rested bullpen arms. Gotta use September to give the starters a break when you can.
I'm a little worried about his velocity. Way down.

Way down. weird weather night, but the kind that will exist in October. Could be a choice to choke back a bit also, when the big lead appeared.

This guy's throwing 100 and has a good slider from the left side. Who the heck is this guy?!!!
Just seems like the Rays could sneeze and bring up guys like this regularly.

Devers isn't like any hitter I've ever seen. I wonder if teams will reverse shift on him at some point.

Pomeranz was throwing 94-95 in his last start and I've seen him throw 86-87 4 seamers in this game. That's more than the weather. I mean maybe it's on purpose and I'm just being paranoid.

Because it is one start, that would increase the possibility of it being weather related or choice. If it happens next start, then I think you would have a greater chance of concern.

just a terrible performance.....and mustache. It is pretty awful that Reed actually needed to come into this game in the first place.

it doesn't seem good that Kelly and Reed had to appear in a 6 run game, I agree. I think the choice to go to Kelly right off the bat was strange. Is it just to make sure he gets work?

i am no hitting coach, I stopped playing baseball after LL, but I would really like to see X close his stance a bit. Still keep it open, but make it a bit more neutral. if you want to go the other way, doesn't that stance help?

Ryan Dempster in the house. Now there's the best color guy ever if he'd ever get in the booth.

CVaz is a totally different hitter. He definitely has a brighter future with that kind of bat.
