Garbage is not an accurate description if this rotation. Soft is more like it. Textbook troll post. "I almost never respond to posters..."

So - we score two, the game is early - and Farrell is leaving Boyer out to give it all away? This is (was) a winnable game - I just don't get it.

Take Pedrioa out of this game. Take Mookie out too.
Try again tomorrow.

This game so far is a combination of poor pitching and poor management of pitching....already "yuck"

Backing into the playoffs for the second straight year in a row.....absolute joke.
Management on this team is a disaster.

my last post for the night, but i gotta join with chrisfromnc on this. Some of you guys are really testing the patience of a lot of people who have invested time in this season. Your free to post whatever you want, but how about standing up and trying to stay positive, so we don't have to read your sky is falling baloney.
Everyone gets it. There isn't a need to keep saying it.

Take Pedrioa out of this game. Take Mookie out too. Try again tomorrow. I agree with this - let the regulars rest, heal - give time to subs. Let's hope the Rays win their game - and come back tomorrow with a few players with a bit of extra rest.

Better pitching. Only two guys we can count on time in and time out are Sale and Pomeranz. Yankees up 3-1 already. ERod went 7.2 with no runs and three hits in his last start. He gout bounced early tonight. The Astros are good. He wasn't tonight. It's the word "Garbage " that I've got an issue with. It's not accurate. Honestly, what word would you use to honestly describe the Red Sox starting pitching in totality? Effective? Honestly, the rotation has been pretty lousy beyond the #2 spot in the rotation. Houston's 3, 4 & 5 starters McCullers, Peacock, and Morton have pitched better this season than any of Porcello, Fister, and E-Rod. David Price, if he was healthy, would make things closer to even, but he's not - or at least not enough to start. It would be crazy I think not to be extremely concerned about the rotation beyond Sale and Pomeranz, and even those two look aren't consistently pitching as well as they have been, to put it mildly.

If Tampa wins then this night actually turns into a positive, despite how terrible they look tonight. Yeah it would have been fun to clinch as NY loses, but now the Sox can take it upon themselves to win it tomorrow night and avoid having to use Pomeranz and Sale this weekend.

If New York loses tonight, then the Sox at the very least are playing a play in game for the division.

Pomeranz would make a good number 3 or 4 starter. He only pitched 7 innings once this season. And averaged just about 5 1/3 innings per start.

Maddox still impresses me, except the unsightly ERA of course.

I just think I figured out a potential cause. According to the announcer, "The Boston Red Sox run on Dunkin". That can't be good.

Wow. Definitely got killer offense envy. So many bats in this line up.
Not a good "playoff roster audition" stint by Barnsie.

Red Sox starting pitchers rank fifth in the league in adjusted ERA (Astros rank tenth). So yeah, I'd describe it as pretty effective.
