Yeah Beer was consensus freshman of the year and won the Dick Howser award as college player of the year in 2016.The only problem Beer is having and moving up the draft ladder is that some clubs worry about him hitting with the wood bat instead of aluminum. In his first two seasons with the Tigers the slash lines R333 506 651 with 34 home runs and more than twice as many walks 1 to 6 as strikeouts 62.But with name like Beer if he makes the majors will definitely sell a lot of jerseys with his name on the back of it.

I believe Carlos Collazo and others from BA have stated that the HS crop for the 2018 draft will be the strongest in years (I believe they said since 2011, not sure on that).
ADD: and it is literally the first sentence of the article Chris posted. Probably should have clicked through the link first.

I don't think the Red Sox 1st pick should be another pitcher this year. It has the last 2 years in a row, and they also have many good pitching prospects. I'd go with an infielder or a catcher.

I'd go with the best available player, regardless of position.

Seth Beer needs to get drafted by Arizona and sent to Hillsboro. OK Chris you started it. Without even suggesting that Seth change his first and middle names to Sam Adams. If it doesn't run against the Red Sox grain. Think of the ancillary income. Sam Adams Beer on the Sox immediately makes them the favorite in the American League Yeast. Please tip your server generously.

I tell you if Mlb let the teams trade at least the top ten rounds that would be fun. Also teams would build faster. It’s gonna take Tamp forever. They tried the draft. They have no assets. Whatever they had is gone. But if they were able to move a couple of picks they could turn it around. Just the top Ten only the slotted ones.
