They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

So strange to have an off-day on a Friday and 3 day games. Not as strange as 5 straight to start the season... that was awesome

Temperatures in Boston will be below 40 degrees at gametime. Lol, got to love April in New England. The Sox either need to build a indoor stadium or have their opening days around mid April. This isn't baseball weather.

Opening Day in Milwaukee is always good no matter the weather...unless they are playing the Cardinals of course.

This isn't baseball weather. You apparently haven’t attended many October playoff games in Boston. This is playoff weather around these parts.

40 degrees is not unusual for a night game in October. Must be weird after two months in Florida, but it's oddly comforting to see them break out the ski masks.

The baserunning idiocy needs to be addressed immediately.

Team needs to stop running into outs.
This isn't a management problem. This is a youth problem and they aren't experienced enough to run the bases well.

Now they need a hit to score the run. This team is sometimes inept when it comes to scoring.

So - a few ghosts from last year persist...poor base running, and clutch hitting. Early yet in the game of course, but Cora is getting a good look at some things to work on.
