"Boomer and the Crunch Bunch" was the name SI gave to that homer happy team on the cover of one summer issue. "Boomer" referring to George Scott. It was a fun team but Cecil Cooper was an expensive price to pay.
Edit: replying to Eric's post.

Unpopular opinion: Replay, though more accurate, is boring. It should be minimized in the regular season and usage expanded in the playoffs. Bad calls make baseball more fun.

If Mookie doesn’t HR here I’m not watching another inning until we’re in Oakland

Hope you’re happy Mookie. Now I get to have almost 6 hours of sleep. Checkmate

Why does a 5-2 lead going into the bottom of the 7th feel like a major letdown? Good Lord, I’m spoiled now.

I'm assuming that Hembree and Barnes are Cora's 7th and 8th options for the foreseeable future. I still would like to see Smith get a chance again. Hembree isn't great and Barnes is inconsistent.

Mitch Moreland should have picked that ball on that Devers' throw. He isn't impressive at picking balls in the dirt.

Hembree looks a little too well rested. Overthrowing his fastball

Weird (but awesome) inning by Hembree, mixing wild pitches with absolutely beautiful ones. He either missed a lot or hit it with ridiculous accuracy.

What a play by Devers. Wow. His errors are all on plays that guys make only 60% of the time, and his good plays are largely real, real, tough, like that one. That's why his DRS is so much better than you'd guess if you simply counted bothe the bad and good.

Trout comes up with the tying run on base if Devers doesn't make that play. That was clutch.

Nice, Smith is getting a chance through the heart of the order. I want to see what he's got here.
