I'm so grateful that Gomes explained that a HR with 2 men on base would tie the game when you trail by 3. I'd be so confused now without his insights.

He looks like he's lowered his hands and is much more quiet in the box before he swings.

I request a mulligan on that first inning. Can we just say it is 0-0 and put Velazquez out for the second inning? Done. If you guys want, I’ll gladly use this newly found super power for the benefit of all Sox Nation.

Tell me at least that Cora’s warming Velazquez. Pomeranz’s arm has to be like frayed rope after that first inning.

I'm actually encouraged that Pomeranz is throwing a couple of cutters here. Tells me that the arm should be okay. Hopefully the velocity comes back with more starts and the building of arm strength that way.

Those 87 mph fastballs aren't going to keep him in this game.

Gotta think we are leaving him in to help him build arm strength for the future games

I don't really see a problem with the way the Sox and Cora are managing Drew. If he has to take a lump or 2 to get back in it, so be it. He is big part of this team's plan for success this year. Not sure what more starts in the minors is going to accomplish. He needs to be doing it with the big boys.

Great time to break out the great curve. Do you give him a third inning?

wow - I'm loving Cora right now - if JBJ hadn't hit that would we see Pomeranz? I guess no - this is cool to watch - good for him

Great time to break out the great curve. Do you give him a third inning? You could press your luck with Chapman, Olson and Canha coming up. A couple of runs this inning would help.

BIS (who feed FanGraphs their data) have Matt Olsen scoring on the second wild pitch of the first, and the A's leading 4-3. They sometimes make a mistake like that, but they usually correct it right away.

But they obviously felt like his stuff can play where he is at. It was a roll of the dice, so to speak.

Obviously not in this case. I guess i just trust the organizations decisions. They have the most information.
