That Bucknor is allow to call balls and strikes in an MLB game tells you all you need to know about MLB umpiring standard. I don’t understand why there isn’t an electronic strike zone yet... technology exists

Castillo is hitting .326....and is a good fielder. Yes, but he's a $10 million backup OF who would put the Sox over the $237 million mark. So until that doesn't matter he'll collect a big paycheck - playing for Pawtucket. And the .326 mark is for Pawtucket as a 30 year old. He's probably more around .250 with the Sox. Oh, he could help him. He'd make a nice backup, but 237 is a line I don't think they really want to cross. Well JBJ has hovered around .200 for half a season or more. We haven't seen the vaunted hot streaks that gave hope he could identify what works and bottle it. The stream of 4 to 3s and trying to pull everything, plus a disturbing lack of contact is worrisome. Right now Martinez, Bogey and Betts are the guys we can expect and need to rely on. At some point we are going to need more offense...even of an average nature from several positions. We can't be below Mendoza at catcher and CF. As to Castillo, I don't know that .326 at AAA translates to .250 in the Bigs. Even if so... Yup certainly 237 is a factor into which we played ourselves and of which I am aware...Perhaps hiring a Rubiks Cube savant is in order given that Solomon is indisposed.

If it ever came down to a vote the Yankees would not only oppose but would do everything possible to make sure there was never a vote. This is nothing new. Recall the Braves v. Yankees where the strike zone Greg Maddux and the rest of the Atlanta staff had been getting all year mysteriously vanished.

I think last season is not a good indicator because what looked like the start of hot streaks kept getting short circuited by injuries. It is concerning that he was ice cold during Spring Training (which I kind of liked thinking he was due to break out) and still is not hitting. I still believe he will get hot but it is a concern.
