that is 11 double plays in less than 300 at bats for Nunez. Ouch.

It's almost as if using Sale is otherwise illegal unless Nunez also plays.

Will we get to see the Thornburg debut tonight?
Sale is just having too much fun out there!

That Sale catch might be one of the best moments all year.

That Sale catch might be one of the best moments all year. I love those moments where you can see players simply having fun playing in a baseball game. I think back to when I was 12 years old and getting on the field was just the best thing ever.

I feel like if the Sox are able to get separation from the Yankees the next 8 games before the allstar break with Torres and Sanchez on the DL, that could go a long way into maybe winning this dang divison.

A bit of perspective - tonight will be win 60. Only one team in the NL has more than 50 (Brewers with 52).
60 wins with ERod and Price a bit erratic, Sale not getting run support for much of the season, Pomeranz not a factor....
60 wins with the bottom of the order often absent, some terrible baserunning, and a stretch where hitting wasn't happening with men on base.
It is entirely possible the best is yet to come. What fun!

It's hard to keep performing when you have a 90 mph fastball like Workman has.
I wish Workman nothing but the best, but I hope he doesn't get many high leverage innings this year.

Looks like Dombrowski made the Steve Pierce trade at the exact right time this year with Moreland going down for a few games. He's batting cleanup tonight. I like Pierce as a low cost resign candidate also after the year. Pierce has done nothing but hit since being acquired.

At this point I enjoy piling on more pitches on their bullpen than I do the runs.

Seems to me like dumping Núñez for a defensive minded infielder would be the easiest way to upgrade this team. Maybe give the Tigers a call about Iggy?

Mop up guys gave up 4 runs in 3 innings. We could use another proven pen guy.
Great that Thornburg got baptized....not spectacular... 93-94 with some hard hit balls and no Ks. I don't think he is fully back.
Nor do I think we can count on Pedey this year...at least regularly....Get Cincinnati's Scooter...average, youth and power.

Might get better as the season goes along, but I agree you can't rely on him for anything this year I don't think.
