Well I had mentioned Ken Giles in my previous post - and surely enough mlbtraderumors.com reports that he's being option to the minors. The guy has a 4.99 ERA to go with his 2.25 FIP. His FIP numbers are always awesome, but...
Very strange. Not sure what he can do better as far as allowing less walks, allowing less HRs and striking out more guys. His H/9 isn't that bad either. Not sure what's up here.

I'll add one more factor to the Ellsbury-Betts discussion. Ellsbury was 27 when he had his best season. Historically, the peak year for players is around the age of 28. Betts is 25. There could be even better seasons ahead.

On a roster related note, I hope the Sox call up Bobby Poyner and send down Beeks until the all-star break when Brian Johnson comes back. He deserves to come back up for the time being. Robby Scott was brought up instead. Ohh well. Isn't Johnson starting on Sunday?

Robby Scott was brought up instead. Ohh well. Isn't Johnson starting on Sunday? Yes I'm almost sure you're right. So bringing up Scott isn't all that bad of a move. Still feel bad for Poyner who is pitching really well all year and he's stuck in AAA because of depth reasons.

I dont think it is looking good for Pedey. No doubt in my mind Pedey will return in September and carry us to the promised land with his glove and by crushing LHP. I have zero doubts.

Watching the Rangers defense makes me grateful for ours. Nunez is pretty much the only negative (and JD when he plays OF).

Nunez has 11 walks year. I’ve got no idea how those 11 happened. You’ve got to bounce the ball in there to see him take a pitch.

Scary play. Sox are lucky that the ball drops in and they score. Rangers are lucky that they didn't lose anybody.

Nunez! (This is properly spoken using the disdainful tone Jerry Seinfeld used when speaking to or about his exasperating neighbor Newman)
Nice job getting thrown out at second after trying to stretch a bloop single.

This Sale guy seems like he might be pretty good.

Great start by Sale. Good job making it so that we have to use 1 fewer reliever today.

5 straight starts of 11 or more strikeouts and 1 or less walks...I believe on ESPN they said no one else has even done that 4 times in a row before Sale.
