I left Red Sox country when I was 8 (Merrimack NH). I remember in 2nd grade, they played the radio broadcast of game 163 in 1978 over the school intercom. I moved to VT after that, where it was split between Yankees and Red Sox fans. My girlfriend told me stories about her family cabin on a lake in Maine. Whenever a big play happened, you could hear everyone screaming around the lake. Everyone listened to the games on the radio all summer long. That must have been pretty awesome. This is awesome. I was also an 8 year old in Merrimack NH in 1978. There were three elementary schools in that town. You obviously went to the cool one. Having a chuckle with my mom, wondering why she let me go a school that obviously hated me... Small world!!! I lived on Danbury Drive.

Porcello is so polarizing to me. He is either really good or awful and not a ton of anything else in between, especially this year. There have been a handful of bad starts that has driven Porcello's ERA over 4 this year. He is usually pretty good, but you never know when the bad Porcello will show up. This year it's been against the Blue Jays for the most part. What would you define as a start that's in between really good and awful? Because looking at his game logs he's basically had every time of start you can imagine this year. Feel like this is recency bias with the CG followed up by his poor game in Toronto. EDIT: Gotta love watching him hit either way. I'd say a start where you give up 5 or more runs a game qualifies as a bad start. He has also had a bad start where he gave up 6 runs (4 earned), with a bunch of baserunners allowed in less than 4 innings pitched. He's had 5 bad starts (handful) really. The rest have been pretty good.

Results aside, Benintendi is on a mission to personally crank this guy’s pitch count tonight. 20 pitches across two ABs.

2 ABs 2 10 pitch ABs. Benny has seen 20 of Pivetta's 49 pitches.

Yeah that's probably true. Better than a Fister type for sure.

It looks like the good Porcello is here tonight and tonight he gets to hit, which is somehow fun now lol.

Is that Sonny Siebert hitting in the nine spot for us tonight? Porcello is the slash line king of the Sox. The hitters aren't going to be able to talk trash to him.

Love seeing the dirt on Porcello's jersey (yes, sliding was risky, but still)

2 ABs 2 10 pitch ABs. Benny has seen 20 of Pivetta's 49 pitches. Makes me a little frustrated that the other hitters have only seen 29 pitches combined, but that's how it works sometimes.

Franco pics that 105+ mph line shot from Xander last at bat, then Franco messes up a routine hop from Xander hitting this time around. Baseball.

This Pivetta kid has nasty stuff though. Reminds me of Trevor Bauer.

Philly has a serious rotation building if Velasquez can stay healthy. No wonder why they've been good this year.

Man our lineup really struggles against the Phillies pitching huh? Philly can really pitch, they got some serious arms down there. The Sox have seen their best arms so far too.

annoying, definitely felt like we could do more damage, and just missed on a few pitches.

At least Philly is going to their bullpen early. Fun game to watch if you love pitching.
