Porcello...not the way we want to see him in this last stretch of the season ...missing a lot of spots in hittable zones and he always seems to pay for it. I'm really surprised they aren't using the early clinch to give him a start off. He seems like he needs a rest as much as anyone.

Devers looks better.....no doubt. Devers getting hot hot hot! I suspect that neither he nor Nunez know who Wally Pipp is. But if this goes on, I think Devers has to start versus RHP at home, not just on the road.

Anyway, they should be platooning as of now, imo.

Porcello's start tonight is good news and bad news.
The good news is that his pitch count isn't overly inflated, so he can pitch for awhile yet.
The bad news is that his pitch count isn't overly inflated, so he can pitch for awhile yet.
In other news, TB loses, Yankees win in extras, Yankees officially in the playoffs.

most of the outs have been hit hard against Porcello too....everything in the zone is getting hammered

Swihart and Devers need to at least be starting vs. RHP in the playoffs. Awesome to see them heating up!

I don't care about the result of this game; I care that hard contact has been trending in the wrong direction for Porcello for a while now, and I'd like him to figure it out as we head into the playoffs...

I have no idea how Lindor hit a line drive to right field on a ball that was 6 inches below the strike zone.

i thought they were going to skip a Porcello start. It is hit or miss, hopefully he will be on. Starting to worry that Cleveland is cheating again, like they did with Sale some time back.

This guy and his performance in 'shut-down inning' opportunities. Someone HAS to track these stats somewhere right!? He's gotta be the worst...

10 baserunners in 4 innings with 0 strikeouts. And on the other side, a guy who's walked 5 and given up 2 HRs. Kind of amazing it's only 4-2.

Why the hell was he trying to run on this guy? That seems completely idiotic.

It wouldn't be that strange. He can probably get more than 2 mil somewhere. Maybe? He's had a really bad year both offensively and defensively. He might be able to, but I could easily see him stay. His option is for $5M with a $2M payout if he declines his option. I'm not sure that a lot of teams will be anxious to top that.

Kelly - That was close. I don't like RS chances in extra inn's (maybe that puts reverse hex on Indians).

I liked the pitch selection when Kelly was up— lotta of change ups and knuckle curves

I'm not sure that a lot of teams will be anxious to top that. It was 4 mil, with the possibility of it becoming 5 based on PAs. I have never found any info on what the number to reach that incentive. Assuming he did reach it, again, if another team gave him 3 mil for next year he breaks even. I wouldn't bet he would get that, or a two year deal which would make it worth it to leave, but I still don't think it's out of the question.
