On May 14th (the first game at Colorado), Devers had a OPS that topped out at .870. His OPS is at .808 now. Has dropped 62 points in less than a week. On the other hand he's 22 and has an OBP over .370 despite being in a 1-for-17 slump. I suspect it is mainly a BABIP correction fot Devers (his average was really high), but if he can keep the walk rate up, that's still a positive.

I think he’s got to be leader for AL ROY right now, yes?

I think he’s got to be leader for AL ROY right now, yes? The 2nd basemen on Tampa is up there too but Chavis can't be below the top 3 at the moment

Edwin Jackson still has 97 mph in the tank. Bizzarro world.

I think he’s got to be leader for AL ROY right now, yes? It's been a pretty good class. Brandon Lowe's been pretty amazing, and Vogelbach has all those homers.

Devers hasn't made a error in 2-3 weeks. So definite improvement there at least.

Price's rehab looks about done. Looks great. I wouldn't push him too hard here.
113 mph on that line drive out for Chavis. They are crushing the ball today.
WOOOOOO JBJ!!!!

Lowe's got a .400 babip and a 35% K rate though, so he can't really keep this up. Not that Chavis can keep up this pace either, but at least his peripherals look better.

How the hell does a 19 year old get picked in the rule 5? And why would you even do that to a 19 year old screwing with his development? There should be a minimum age for rule 5 eligibility that's way older than 19. Luciano has no business being the first player born after 2000 in the majors. He has given up 18 walks in 18 IP. I bet his chance to stick in the majors has been cut by about 80%.

There should be a minimum age for rule 5 eligibility that's way older than 19. It has a chance to happen a lot to amateur international players, since a lot of them get signed at 16. I don't know, I think it's more fair than taking all their bonus money away. The kid is getting paid major league money now and isn't being put in a big role in a rebuilding club. I can think of a lot worse circumstances in MLB right now.

OK, I figured it out. Luciano failed his initial physical and had to renegotiate his signing bonus. There's a loophole in the rule 5 eligibility rules that states you're eligible when you are no longer on your initial deal. What a dumb rule.

lol, 114 mph single for Devers. I've lost track, but I think that's about 5 balls hit harder than 110 today. Chavis follows with a 108 EV.
