Just walked the dogs. Sox score. Cause and effect! 😀 Two run game now. Perhaps you have some errands to run?

Sale just completely lost his command this inning. It's mostly down the middle and getting hit hard.

Got to make a pitching change here Cora with 2 outs. He's gassed.

JDM has hit 4 homeruns the last 3 games I'm almost positive. So yeap, the offense is back.

I think JDM’s back issues are ok. Seems like a healthy baseball player to me.

I would never let Brock Holt buy a beer in any bar that I was in. Why? Cause he doesn't look twenty one?

How much money did Mookie turn down from us? He has done nothing in almost a full calendar year... he tanked the end of last season and none existant in the playoffs and average this year. Not sure I would go above 8/160 at this point

Thank you for pinch hitting Chris Davis against a guy who has now struck him out 78% of the time.

Yes. He started to fade at the very end as I remember it and was awful in the playoffs He had a 185 wRC+ in August and a 199 wRC+ in Sep/Oct last season. Maybe you're just trying to create a narrative that isn't there.

Must have been just his awful playoffs and this average year just making it feel worse.

I have plenty of patience though.

Chris Sale finally catches Dylan Bundy in pitching wins. That's no discredit to Bundy. He's the only quality on that pitching staff who is about to get traded.

What a totally unpredicted group in the Sox pen (just looked at the current active roster page) - who would have predicted a pen of Workman, Walden, Brewer, Shawaryn, Lakins, Smith and Taylor on June 15!

How much money did Mookie turn down from us? He has done nothing in almost a full calendar year... he tanked the end of last season and none existant in the playoffs and average this year. Not sure I would go above 8/160 at this point I think this is mostly an emotional take from the fact that Mookie's performance this year has not matched his otherworldly performance from last year, but let's just state some objective facts about Mookie: -He's the active WAR leader in baseball for players 26 and under, eclipsing #2 Manny Machado by 3 WAR, #3 Bryce Harper by 10 WAR, and #4 Jose Ramirez by 16 WAR. Other than Mike Trout, I'm not sure how far back you have to go to figure out who's had a better 6-season stretch to start their career. Maybe Pujols 2001-2006 was better? It's debatable. Albert Pujols in that stretch was 7.4 WAR per 650 PA, Mookie so far in his career is 7.7 WAR per 650 PA. -Mookie Betts is the first player in MLB history to win the MVP, Silver Slugger, Gold Glove, batting title, and World Series in the same season. -Mookie currently has the sixth best WAR total in the AL and is a 2-week Mookie streak from entering the conversation for MVP. -Even in this "down" year, he's figuring out ways to help the team with his dependable immaculate defense, and by far the best walk rate of his career. He's second in the AL in both walks and runs. -A $20M AAV salary would make Mookie the 34th-highest paid player in the MLB in 2019 -- the same salary he's making this season, after putting up possibly one of the most historic starts to a career in history and giving himself an outside shot to score the most runs in the history of baseball. In year 8, that would make him the 70th highest paid player in the MLB on an 8/160 deal? -The most intelligent move the Sox can make is to back up the Brinks trucks for Mookie Betts and make him a Red Sox for life. He's deserving of the second biggest baseball contract of all time.

Isn't Chris Davis embarrassing himself? Davis is contributing to their failure for sure, but they would suck anyway so I'm not sure it's fair to draw a direct correlation. As someone else pointed out, Nunez has been about as good over the same time period so it's not completely outrageous for the team to just be hoping that he turns things around and they get some sort of return on one of the worst contracts in sports. It may not be the most empathetic approach on the part of the team, but Davis is getting paid $23M per year to play baseball so I don't know that it's too much to ask that he play baseball. The Sox are paying a AAA Ofer $20M a year to play baseball. Probably more than Baltimore's AAA affiliates entire payroll. They probably want him to retire and forfeit his salary. He's not going to do it.
