For a guy who hit like Mike Trout in the regular season, Yordan is getting a bit exposed by the Yankee pitching staff. Yeah, I've been a little disappointed. I had never really seen him play and saw his ridiculous numbers and couldn't, but he's looked terrible so far. I hope he breaks out sooner than later.

Yesterday I had contempt for both teams (contempt edge going to the Yankees). Tonites' game ALL my contempt went to the Astro's (with the majority being given to their offense). Another game like this from the "Stros and I'm in The Who gives a crap who wins game #7. In either case I am lock solid behind the Nats for the WS. Very unusual position for me.

In their wildest dreams, this is what the Yanks needed: beat Verlander, Paxton give them 6 innings, & bullpen throws 33 pitches.
"Ain't gonna happen"
The next event is Green carrying the shutout into the 3rd or 4th inning. Followed by whom? Kahnle early.

If the Yankees beat Houston today and today's game is a toss-up, then everybody expects Cole to win Game 7 as he's been near unbeatable. Reminds of when John Tudor was on his 20-1 run or whatever it was in 1985 and still pitching well in the post-season and the Royals got a huge break in Game 6 and faced him in Game 7. Tudor was clobbered. Hope if it goes to Game 7 Cole continues to dominate. I know one thing. If I were Houston my bullpen that day would consist of Greinke and/or Verlander for an inning or two if need be.

Fivethirtyeight's odds imply a 19% chance of the Yankees winning this series.

Fivethirtyeight's odds imply a 19% chance of the Yankees winning this series. Yeah but they probably aren't factoring in the two most important metrics, that "this is just the Yankees' year" and "they have all the momentum after Game 5".

I am very scared.
Also: it amazes me that we have two bullpen games in a game 6. What seemed like a desperation maneuver by bad teams in the dog says of a season has now become the go-to for probably the two best teams in baseball? You don’t have enough starting depth to go with a starter at this moment? Wild.

20/20 hindsight: save Verlander for game 6, so he doesn't have to pitch in the 50 degree weather.
Yanks have 46% chance tonite, 39% tomorrow. 538.com
The line is Hous -150 tonight Which I think translated to Hous 60%
HOU -128 O/U: 9 ALCS - GAME 7
128/228=56%

I'm glad Hinch at least, didn't move Cole up on 3 days rest and try to go with Greinke for Game 7 on 3 days rest. Hate to say it, but tonight's game is totally a toss-up. I'm glad Houston has the HFA, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if this series goes 7 and if it does, as great as Cole has been, the Yankees still have a shot. The Astros would have the HFA and Cole, but the Yankees would have the momentum. Hope it doesn't come to that. This year has been pretty miserable from a Red Sox standpoint. Seeing the Yankees in the Series (and winning it) would be quite awful.

The Astros really haven't hit at all. Unless they hit a HR, they struggle to score. Hard to imagine that the Astros can get 12 outs and hang onto the 3-2 lead if they don't hit.

Alvarez having a brutal series. If this goes 7, Hinch has to consider a different option.

Wonder how Hinch pieces the last 9 outs with Harris already pitching and Pressley used and injured. Does he try to get 6 outs with Osuna or does he put in Greinke for an inning?

Baseball is a crazy game.
Yankees and Astros can't do anything with RISP all series; last year, our Sox set a major league postseason record in avg/obp/slg with 2-outs and RISP, hitting .420/.567/.780. Those results were like magic.

Wow , 2 clutch DPs by the Stros in 2 innings. I'm counting down the outs and two get 2 in one shot twice - love it!
That Benintendi like catch and DP by Brantley was huge!
Hope the Astros can tack on another run or two.
I don't have a ton of faith in Osuna, so some insurance would be big!

How long will it take the networks to figure out that pandering to the largest fanbase is still a turnoff to the majority of the viewers.

The Judge play was funny. First they credited his height on a ball fielded waist high then stuttered when the replay showed Judge fumbled it. By the way, I do think Judge is a good fielder but that was funny.

Damn, the Astros missed their chance to put the game away on offense. Judge had some adventures in RF.
I hope Osuna is clutch in the 9th.
