They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

The Sox' bats have been solid lately, but golly... seeing these pitching match-ups at the start of each new series is HARROWING. Sadly, probably a sweep. Maybe win one with brute force?

Rafi's demise has been greatly exaggerated.

Was that Devers homer really only 379 feet? It seemed like a shot. Maybe it was the loft-to-landing spot ratio, but the listing surprised me.

I swear, Eck and Remy are the worst two guys I've ever seen at watching slow-motion replays. I never know what the hell they're seeing when they talk about it. Not that it matters, it's just funny.

The battle of spin-rate left-handers. I'm partial to Kenny G myself.

Kickham is almost literally throwing only breaking balls. So the Rays know what they’re getting and can’t do anything with it regardless.

In a lost season, enjoying watching king-of-the-scrap-heap Mike Kickham spin a few nice innings.
Edit: I'm unable to prove that I didn't cause the 4th inning sadness that just occurred, so my apologies for ruining it.

still, never would have guessed Kickham could put up 8 strikeouts in 4 innings of work.

In a lost season, enjoying watching king-of-the-scrap-heap Mike Kickham spin a few nice innings. He’s been fun to watch (until he gave up those bombs while I was composing this). Taking a larger perspective, I’ve had plenty of seasons that I would consider less enjoyable than this one. A good bit of it has to do with low expectations before the season even started. But Verdugo has been fun, Dalbec has an interesting start going, and from time to time you’ve gotten something from Arauz, Vazquez, Moreland and Xander and others. Admittedly, I’m setting the bar low but that keeps me sane as a fan. I don’t want to be yelling at my TV and being upset when the Sox lose. And Dalbec just giving me affirmation!!

This NESN broadcasting is a joke! Also: if Dalbec can cut those Ks just to 30%, oh boy!

Bobby Bombs is back and your gonna be in trouble. Hey La, Hey La, the Bombs are back !!! Quite the musical posting theme today. Nicely done. Huge numbers of people must have no idea what you’re talking about. The eighties reference from a rock and roll HoFer is one thing. Going deep into the 50’s for the second one...that’s 70 level music trivia!

Actually the 60's (1963 The Angels, My Boyfriend's Back) but since this year seems like 10 for many reasons you get a pass....1953 it is. I stand corrected. I should have looked it up first. I’d have bet it was like 1958 or something close to that. Well before my era, to be sure.
