They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

Hopefully Garrett Richards and the Sox could win one for my wedding today. If you're not posting comments here through the ceremony you're not a real fan.

Enjoy your day, rsf2! My philosophy: Don't think of today as the "best day of your life." If your wedding day is the best day of your life it means your life being married wasn't as good - each day after should be better, not worse. OTOH, nothing wrong with remembering today as that day you threw one hell of a party. Funny SoxProspects wedding story I like to tell: Chris Mellen got married on trade deadline day in 2010, which was the day the Red Sox traded Chris McGuiness, Roman Mendez, and a PTBNL (Michael Thomas) to Texas for Jarrod Saltalamacchia. Before the ceremony, Mellen was texting with Texas's scout who had Red Sox coverage. Months prior, Mellen had advised the Texas scout to stay in Greenville an extra day to see Mendez. Turns out him telling the scout to do that led to the scout writing Mendez up as a trade target and led to his inclusion in the trade. Mellen learned he'd basically directly influenced an MLB trade minutes before his ceremony. Kind of a cool moment early in the site's history.

That is pretty cool too say you directly impacted a trade

It would be nice if a starter could actually go 6 innings to relieve stress on the bullpen.

Robbie Ray likes to wear his uniforms super tight, like 2 sizes under. #Scouting

Good to know, very likeable guy, always willing to share. In business, one of the management over us trained monkeys. Might be an aerospace industry expression.

Hernandez 8 Verdugo 7 Martinez DH Devers 5 Renfroe 9 Vazquez 2 Arroyo 4 Gonzalez 6 Dalbec 3
Not the most awe-inspiring lineup without Bogey but Stripling isn’t anything special. He has strung together 3 nice starts since the Sox lit him up about a month ago though

I wonder if Richards is seeing his spin rate mysteriously decline tonight
