Consensus top 30 prospects, as near as I can come up with it. Sources have been weighted by how much they agreed with the unweighted consensus. Anyone have an estimate on when the Sox are on the clock? I live in Taiwan so I actually have to get and watch the draft, and I'm deciding what time I have to wake up

I live in Taiwan so I actually have to get and watch the draft, and I'm deciding what time I have to wake up The only fact we know is that each team can have four minutes to decide, so the Sox could be "on the clock" after twelve minutes. But we don't know if there will some initial verbal folderol and video from mlb at 7 p.m., or what happens if a team takes less than four minutes.

Honestly, worried that mayer, leiter and crash are all gone before we pick. That would be a sad day.

Who the Sox would take if Leiter and Davis are off the board seems like the biggest unknown. Hope we don't have to see that scenario though!

Red Sox Stats @redsoxstats ((about 8 a.m.)) Baseball America, Gammons, and Callis now all mentioning Rocker in play for the Rangers at #2. Callis stuck with Leiter going 2nd in their new mock this morning but said he’s trying to get to the Red Sox. Davis still feeling most likely. mlb.com/pipeline

Said it in the other thread and i will say here. Everyone has Mayer going number one due to talent, but the Pirates pick is going to come down to price from those same people. If that is the case why would Mayer take a discount. If he slips, the worse case for him is Detroit at #3 where he can make 7.2M. With the Rangers, he can make 7.8M. If FanGraphs is correct, and its Mayer and Davis, Davis can give the Pirates a 1.4M dollar discount and make 400k more than he would in Boston.

I was thinking this the moment Kiley said something like "the Pirates are listening to offers and will take the one with best value". I don't get why everyone is so sure about Mayer going first

We’ll know if Leiter is in play after the first two picks though. The Tigers haven’t been linked to him and the Pirates may make a deal with someone.

If the Draft Industrial Complex is correct then the Red Sox big board is (ignoring Mayer who doesn't seem realistic):
1) Leiter 2) Davis 3) Someone biting on a big underslot deal 4) Rocker

I wouldn’t be surprised if they chose him over Lawlar, Rocker, and Watson should the top 3 be Mayer, Leiter, Davis.
