Hope he rebounds this year after his rough debut but his glove really needs to improve.

Several of those top 20 prospects could graduate so end of season we could see up to (if Casas plays in AAA till late August/Sept) 3 of our very own in the top 15. That would be sweet.

An all bat, second baseman with limited power will likely never be a top 15 prospect and I know he only has 4 spots to rise on this list, but for Casas to put up the numbers required for a first baseman to be a top 15 guy, it’d be an upset if he weren’t in the majors.

Gavin Lux says hello. If Yorke keeps raking there's no denying his potential offensive output.

But wasn't Lux only a 2B (in MLB) bc of Seager?

But wasn't Lux only a 2B (in MLB) bc of Seager? He played multiple positions but was listed as 2B/SS in the minors. Not sure how many games he played at 2B but I remember his being listed as one of the top of my head.

Not sure how many games he played at 2B but I remember his being listed as one of the top of my head. Just looked at his older MLB.Com writeups (as an example) and they had him listed as SS/2B and his D writeup suggested that he might be better at 2B but could be a SS.

Keston Hiura was graded as having 60 pop but was certainly a bat-first 2B who wasn't even a lock to stay there.
Ozzie Albies wasn't supposed to even have average pop, although he was projected as potentially being able to stick at short and he has speed Yorke doesn't.
Maybe Dustin Ackley?

"Dustin Ackley was a beast at North Carolina, hitting over .400 in each of his three seasons, and blasted 22 home runs his final season. The Seattle Mariners took him No. 2 in the 2009 MLB Draft and by 2011 he was a big leaguer, after two straight seasons of being a consensus top 25 prospect (our own John Sickels had him the 10th best hitting prospect in 2010). Unfortunately, that was arguably his best season. He went from a second baseman to outfielder to first baseman to utility player. He hasn’t had a big league at bat since 2016, posting a .241/.304/.367 slash line and .671 OPS in 635 MLB games." www.minorleagueball.com/2018/6/23/17495844/25-times-milb-prospects-didnt-meet-the-hype-in-the-2000s-part-ii

Hope he rebounds this year after his rough debut but his glove really needs to improve. In a Keith Law chat today someone asked whether Duran might be due for a "Trout-like breakout" this year. Law said not. I followed up with a more modest question: Me: Yikes on "Trout-like breakout." What are the odds Jarren Duran has an up and down JBJ-like career offensively? And what are the odds that he becomes adequate or plus in CF? Keith Law @jim O. I like that up-and-down comment - I could see him doing that, having some above-average seasons and some below-average ones. He was worse in CF than I expected him to be in the majors, but that's also something we know can improve even in the majors, as long as the player is athletic & has the willingness to work at it.

Downs took a huge hit. Went from a FV of 50 in their last update all the way down to 40+

Rafaela doesn't even make the "others of note" tier?

Rafaela doesn't even make the "others of note" tier? That's a shocker. Being honest, to me it brings down the value of the list considerably. Not even top 51 ? Give me a break.

People have different opinions. Fangraphs is still one of the more reliable sources and trying to act like it affects their credibility when you've likely never actually watched him play a game is a bit hyperbolic.

Are Yorke's grades a typo? I don't think I've ever seen anyone with a higher game power than raw power. I get both are relative to the situation, but I feel like there's almost always a drop off.

Fangraphs has written up the prospects lists for 15 teams so far, and the Red Sox have the second most ranked prospects, after the Pirates. I think the farm system is officially deep now.
I'd say it's still only average at the top though. It would be nice to get a few breakouts from all that depth to hopefully produce a really strong top 10 by the end of the year.
