They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

We need another Farrelly Brothers movie so he can play Seabass's cousin or something.

It legit feels like it’s been six months since we had a game day thread to rant in. Okay, it’s really only been five months since October, but who’s actually doing math in a game day thread.
I’m really looking forward to a season that we almost didn’t get. I’m happy I get to share season that with this nutty, but really special community of prospect followers. LFG.

MLB’s Crazy American League East Projection Results In Four-Way Tie nesn.com/2022/04/mlbs-crazy-american-league-east-projection-results-in-four-way-tie/MLB released a record projection for all 30 and teams and the results were… interesting. The thought-provoking experiment led to the creation of an incredible potential storyline down the road. The MLB is predicting the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays will all finish 88-74. The results were listed in that order, though it seems unlikely that they went through the process of projecting who would win tie breakers.

The results were listed in that order, though it seems unlikely that they went through the process of projecting who would win tie breakers. These projections also don't factor in that teams that fall by the wayside are going to trade away talent and be a much lesser team as the year goes on and vice versa for other teams. So the predictions would have teams that tend to be clumped together. I don't put a helluva lot of stock in them. They're about as useless as my predictions, just better informed.

What was the projection, 90 wins? Let this be three of them.

No prediction thread? Well put me down for 82-80. I just have a bad feeling the starting pitching is gonna have a rough go of it.
The breakdown is: 19-0 against the Yankees, 63-80 against everyone else.

Judge turns down 8 yr, $233M extension. Sure to draw media frenzy today. Very nice.

Yikes. I would hate that contract if I were a Yankees fan... and it wasn't enough for him.

Take any leaked contract offer with a grain of salt. Lots of ways for that deal to be worse than the straight up years/dollars reported.

Judge doesn't sound happy and I don't blame him. Cashman is overrated, yet some around here think he is great.

I attended the one-gamer last Oct and it was so emotionally intense that I actually felt lightheaded and had to put my head down and gather myself a few times. Six months later, I'm in front of the TV for another unenjoyable, angry, stressed-out day of watching what feels like a life-or-death struggle.
I've been doing this all my life. I hate the MFYs so much.
