Don’t want to pop the champagne just yet, but JBJ is flirting with a .500 OPS.

Torkelson gets his first major league home run against a minor league pitcher. How poetic.

I mean, he threw a heater right down Woodward Ave in a 9-2 game...

Davis threw 30 pitches in Game 1, this is poor workload management early in the season

Yet another flare off the bat of Meadows.
Anyone have EVs for his hits this series?

Crawford is nasty. Not so sure he couldn’t start, but glad to have him in the pen this year.

Seems like Sox pitchers are doing a good job overall inducing weak contact. A lot of bloops and bleeders among their hits given up.

Guessing they wanted to see if Kutter could go 2.1. Not as promising now.

Maybe ERod is cursed? Is that the genius of letting him go? He will just always have bad D, bad BABIP etc? You would normally think that an analytically inclined GM like Bloom would love to have a SP with a good track record coming off of a season in which they were the biggest xwOBA underperformer (aka the unluckiest pitcher) in baseball. I’m curious as to what turned him away from making a real effort to keep him. Time will tell if he was right or wrong to do so. Question, has anybody considered that maybe he just didn't want to be here? There's plenty of people who are unhappy in their workplaces and leave for similar paydays but a change of scenery. Often when we don't signed someone we are linked to or don't resign someone it's always put as a failure of the gm at the time. With his shot at the defense on his way out, it seems fairly likely to me that he just didn't want to be here.

We’ll probably never get a firm answer anyway.
