Haven't caught one of his innings yet, how does Arroyo look in right?

Is Connor Wong our starting catcher for the next 10 days? Do we have a back-up catcher? I don’t see one in the transactions.

Haven't caught one of his innings yet, how does Arroyo look in right? He's been okay to bad. It looks like he hasn't yet learned how to take his eye off the ball briefly while running to where the ball is going to land or determine quickly where that will be. He was largely responsible for the runs that Hill gave up in his first start in Detroit (which also has a big RF). Bad routes, balls fell in front of him (one he dove for and didn't look comfortable doing that).
SSS, so hope he improves.

Has been hitting well in Worcester and is a more experienced OF than Arroyo, so it's a little surprising he's not starting tonight vs. the LHP. Of course, AC likes his guys and it prolly doesn't hurt that Arroyo has PR roots...

So to be clear, you're implying that the manager is starting Arroyo, who was born in Florida, because he is of Puerto Rican descent? Get the hell out with that garbage. Seriously. Dude hit .329/.356/.529 vs. LHP last year. He's going to start every game vs. LHP. Refsnyder just got up and hit .304/.391/.393 vs. LHP last year. He's not useless but c'mon now. To my point earlier in another thread re: early season numbers: of the 10 WooSox with 20 PA, six have an OPS of .896 or higher. It is likely the Polar Vortex was helping out a bit.

It was tongue in cheek and I don't think that AC does anything except what he thinks is best for the team. So I shouldn't have said that and I apologize. I have heard AC talk about his and Arroyo's shared heritage but no, I don't think he makes lineups based on it. Bad joke, mea culpa.

1-7 RISP performance is sub-optimal against a team this loaded.

It is funny that Eovaldi has become the 100+ pitch workhorse. When they originally signed him, I figured he was a walking TJ pre-op. Dude has become an all-time favorite.

We are still living in the land of squanders for Red Sox mach 2022. Gotta fix that.
Other thoughts (just got here, tuned in a few innings ago) - Liking Youk (he's no Eck, but better than Mazz or Lenny or Gomes or Timlin or...)
And - Robot Umps. Please.
And - Nate is a really good pitcher.
