They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

Feel we at minimum have to go 6-4 on this west coast trip. 7-3 would be a lot better though, and I believe is possible. OAK and ANA haven't been playing well of late. SEA has played better since we last saw them. We've got to right our ship before TOR comes in for 3 beginning 6/27.

Based on history as much as on this team.

www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/34020108/the-148-names-need-know-mlb-trade-deadlineIf Boston finds itself, say, seven games back of the third wild-card spot in the AL -- the current gap is just 2½ behind Los Angeles -- can it reasonably hold on to shortstop Xander Bogaerts, knowing he plans on opting out of his deal this winter? No. Not when the Cardinals and Angels... Teams would line up for J.D. Martinez, also a free agent-to-be. Homer-prone as Nathan Eovaldi has been this year, he'd be an excellent alternative for teams that don't want to get into the Castillo/Montas bidding wars. And there are several others in the list.

Jarren Duran is not with the WooSox tonight and manager Chad Tracy indicated he may be joining the Red Sox shortly.
Duran has reached base in 29 straight games in Triple-A.

I have confirmed Red Sox' Jarren Duran is on his way to Oakland. Not sure yet if he'll be placed on the active roster.

Is JBJ hurt or sick? You'd think he'd play in those wide open spaces in Oakland against a RHP. That would explain Duran coming up.

Bradley is on paternity leave.
— Duran is taking Bradley’s spot.
— Sale threw a bullpen yesterday, he will throw another one and then could face hitters next week.
—Barnes (shoulder) had an MRI yesterday. Sox haven’t gotten results, but Barnes on his way to Fort Myers

As much as I want the Sox to win, I'm like "maybe I can wait a year...."

Cards probably aren't interested in Xander at this point. They moved their very good 2B to SS, and the new 2B is their top prospect with an 1100 OPS through 11 games.

I think people are overestimating what the return on these guys will be.

I did not realize the A’s had such a weak lineup. OPS leader is .703. 🥶

An expiring Anthony Rizzo having a bad season was traded for Fangraphs #92 overall prospect plus the Cubs current #10 prospect
