slight misplay there from Duran. JBJ probably has that. Yeah… a slight addendum to my praise of Duran is he has given up on a few in front of him today that seemed catchable, especially with his speed. I wonder if his first step is still not so good?

Does Story have the yips? Even that throw looked weird. He’s had a rough day.

Damn, he was moving his elbow right into that 96 mph pitch. I am worried.

Barry solved this problem decades ago I thought this was about Verdugo’s warning-track power!

The A’s are trying to give it to us, this game is setting up for Story to end it with a golden sombrero

I dont know what the team record is for K's by a batter in a year, but Story might make a run at it. Hope he gets hot again, and soon.

He's also not used to the expansive CF in Fenway. He needs to play everyday to get more experience out there. Should help his reads, routes and decision making. Silly comparing him to JBJ who's played in Boston for over 9 years.

If I'm not mistaken, with his 4 AB day today, Jarren just graduated from prospect status, right? Does this site use the 130 AB rule for rookie eligibility?

9-20 with no RISP 0-9 with RISP this game sucks Yes, it sucks. Ten of eleven hits were singles. The Red Sox left 5 runners on third, and most were there with less than two outs.

This is a scary lineup right now. It was scary today too, in another sense. They scored runs on a groundout, an error, and an IF hit, and that's all.

Glad Doogie reads the forum, though...

Depending what happens with the roster long-term, I wonder if they shouldn't try him back at 2B.
If this really is Tampa North, Chaim will trade Verdugo in the off-season while he still has a couple years of control left and go with the comparable player with much more control in LF... assuming of course that Duran shows that he's worth it and Verdugo shows that he's worth a decent return.

Of the Sox next 41 games, 37 are against teams that are above .500, including several divisions leaders and WC teams. It’s a cauldron right up to and past the trade deadline. Make or break time.
