The draft used to continue as long as there were 2 teams making selections.

At least if Doyle says he immediately loved the class when interviewing Toboni a year later, he won't be full of it this time.

All six are AL teams. That's interesting.

These are players on BA's top 500 that haven't signed as a UDFA yet, and are also considered SRs, meaning their Freshman year was 2019 or prior, so they have much less leverage then than 2020 freshman class:
Jackon Lyon RHH OF- Cal St Fullerton Eric Kennedy LHH OF- Texas Brian Ellis LHH OF FGCU BT Riopelle LHH C Florida Luke Mann LHH 3B Missouri Luc Lipcius LHH 1b Tennessee Jake Thompson LHH 1B/OF
The latter two are 24 yrs old, and prob the most accomplished of the group.

Also, hard to go wrong taking a stab at a LHH C...

Apparently already announced he is going back to UF. Pretty darn good hitter, so I am surprised he wasn't drafted, and he's already made that announcement, if I team has an extra $200K (doubtful I know) at the end of the signing period, a $325K offer for a 5th yr SR is awfully enticing IMO. Also, of note, two names that weren't on BA's top 500, but are well known college stars are Chris Lanzilli from Arkansas by way of Wake Forest. RHH OF from Stoneham, MA and SH OF Bryson Worrell from ECU. Both those guys have long history of college production, and I'd have to think they are two of the more sought after UDFAs even though both are 24.

Really interesting read and writeup. Hoping this evaluation is the correct one for sure!! Will put a lot of the faith in evaluations to rest long term too and give them a ton of leeway.

Anybody heard anything about Song? Is he going to try to play or did he just give up on baseball?

Chaim and Freedman are from the Rays. Hoyer obviously had a role here. Stearns comes from the Astros. I don’t think that is coincidence.
