Nice to see WMB with a 3 run shot last night. I just wish he had a little protection behind him in the order. This doesn't mean his problems are solved.
They really miss Morales a guy who can go more than one inning in relief. One observation about the A's except for them wanting our left overs. I mean the pitches these guys take to me is amazing. Every guy in that line up just takes pitch after pitch. I think Felix wanted to strangle that umpire.

Is it curious that Gomes is DHing instead of Carp? I'm not sure curious is the right word. Gomes has a .731 career OPS against righties. Anytime you've got a chance to get a .731 OPS in the lineup as your DH, you've gotta jump at that. And yes, I know that Carp has weird reverse splits. It's a BABIP thing.

I can't wait to never have to watch this loser pitch again.

how many times do we have to go through the Aceves starting experiment before we realize it does not work? Also commits a balk twice in one inning?

Time for Steven Wright?

Looks like they've sucked every drop they can out of Aceves. Lackey replaces him, then Webster comes back up if anyone else goes down.

Aceves has literally given up 1/4th (16/66) of the runs we have let up this year.
Pathetic.

Aceves was terrible last year, he's terrible this year. They actually have legitimate starting pitching depth for a change, so let's hope this is the end of the Alfredo Aceves experiment

It's time to let Aceves go. I already sick of him. He's not worth pitcher to keep around the team roster. We have better pitchers to replace him. Also, send Andrew Miller down for his mechanic work. Show your guts, Ben about the pitcher roster movements.

Well, at least things worked well for them to punt this game.

We have 3 pretty much useless pitchers in our staf (Aceves, Wright and Miller). 3 injured guys are coming back (Lackey, Morales, Breslow). Let's hope Ben does the math like it should be done.

Thinking out loud: Aceves has to get cut after this game, right?

Wright isn't Wakefield. Say goodbye.

Wright isn't Wakefield. Say goodbye. You are probably 'right' but I am willing to give him more time to develop...just not at the ML level. This quickly became a "sacrifice game".....Breslow had a horrible game tonight as well but at least he has a good history. Hopefully he doesn't have a debilitating injury. I am not willing to give up on Miller either. He did pitch well last year and, if control were not the issue, he has dominant stuff. Morales may be the closest to help assuming his recent 'injury' is not problematic. Now, without Hanrahan as well, how true has the axiom "you can never have enough pitching" become. As an aside, how weak is our line up if we can't dent the drug-free (assuming) ancient, Colon?

I am not willing to give up on Miller either. God, I hope you're a GM for one of the other 29 teams.

evandrellich: Steven Wright optioned. Won't be Breslow or Morales. Could recall Webster but nothing announced. Any guesses?

Even if you wanted Webster in the rotation, you can't use him for a few days, so you call up the reliever as a place holder/emergency arm until its Webster's day to pitch.

I'd advocate Martin with Hassan or Holt off the 40 but I am guessing the return of Josh "I haven' given up a run in a while" Bard.

Wouldn't they have to wait 10 days to recall Webster? Doesn't make any sense anyway since they need a bullpen arm ... don't know who it'll be, tho. Beato?
edit: man, completely forgot Daniel Bard was even a possibility. Seems early for that, but I guess that's the only move that makes any sense at all ...
