Also: truly emphasizes how stupid it was to protect Hassan in Rule 5. Look at the gymnastics the front office has to resort to due to a lack of 40-man roster flexibility. Or they could have kept Fields or Olmsted instead, which makes DFAing Aceves easier and means they wouldn't have had to rely on Wright or Bard for emergency RP depth. Are you going to keep pounding that same refrain all year? You disagreed, nobody on here had Hassan protected, but the Sox decided it was a good idea and maybe they'll be right in the end. Get over it. There are 40++ spots on the 40-man, and as has been pointed out many times, not adding Hassan is not the only thing the Sox could have done differently, and having 2+ OF on the 40-man in the minors is not many. They could have not added Butler (or traded a C), traded Britton, traded a ML reliever and kept a MiL reliever, and of course not added Bradley. I wanted to keep Fields & Olmsted, but you know, Fields is on the DL himself (real or fake, who knows), and Olmsted has had a rough start. You never know.
