I'm not sure Webster will be able to start. Unless the rules for adding the 26th player for a doubleheader are different, he's still within the 10 day window after his demotion. Someone would have to hit the disabled list for him to be recalled.

If I write here that Ross is a black hole will he get a hit? (i.e. the fallacy of man's egocentric view of the universe). Time to try.
ADDED: Once again, the universe wins.

Someone would have to hit the disabled list for him to be recalled. He does not need to wait for 10 days. The Astros exploited the loophole last year: hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/06/02/astros-exploit-mlbs-newest-loophole/

Lester is getting squeezed on a lot of low strikes. He's been really inefficient but has been able to prevent any damage so far.

David Ross historically has been very good at pitch framing (btw, Salty has been good historically as well), so I blame this zone on the two umpires today.

From watching GAMEDAY @ working, can you tell me why Brian Anderson with 5+ ERA is out pitching our ace pitcher? Why can't the RS hitting him? I know he's pretty good in lifetime against Boston.

It's Brett Anderson, who is actually a pretty good young lefty, he had a rough outing or two to start the year due to some nagging injuries supposedly.

Ok, I feel a little better about right now. Feel a lot better if Ross could get a hit - or even a run-scoring passed ball here.

Lester won't be getting those calls if he keeps giving the Ump Peyton Manning face whenever one doesn't go his way. This seemed to be successfully suppressed by him until today.

Home plate umpire got hit in the hand and left the game.
Ellsbury now 10/10 on stolen bases. As awful as the bottom of the order has been, the top of the order has been excellent. Ellsbury/Victorino/Pedroia have been getting on base and Napoli has been driving them in.

Why did the plate umpire leave the game? Anbody know? X-rays on finger from a foul ball. That or he was electric fenced by QuestTech for too many bad calls.

Good call.
A proper blowout would be really nice here.

I am getting really pessimistic about the next three hitters. The catchers, Middlebrooks, and Drew (even considering today's triple) are so hard to watch at the plate right now.

One of these days, Jon Lester will keep his composure after getting squeezed on a key pitch.
On that same day, I will win the lottery.

One of my favorite pastimes is coming to the gameday thread before knowing anything about the game to read all the negative quotes, then checking the box score to see we won when I figured we lost by 10 runs.
