Seems like Casas is at least back to "walks a lot" Casas, which makes it a lot more palatable to try and be patient through the other stuff Yeah watching patient guys struggle is somehow much less painful than when the strikeout guys (Dalbec, Franchy, etc )do

I kinda wonder if 0 HR Duran is best Duran. He just seems more line drive, all fields oriented. Love it.

Love Duran. Facing crazy lefty, laces one oppo? Who had that last year? Love seeing him attack pitches. Keep this turnaround in mind when giving up on Yoshida and Casas already I haven’t given up anyone… *definitely* not Casas. I am not sure Yoshida is that good a player, but that is not giving up.

The tough thing with me on Casas is that although he's got a great eye and waits for his pitch, he's not squaring up on his pitch when he gets it. It seems to me that he just needs to speed up that swing decision slightly. His xBA through last night is .172 so his actual batting average of .173 isn't bad luck. Last year's xBA was .193. In my opinion he needs to take note of what Duran is doing. Just commit to and attack the hittable pitches and quit the half check swings

Bullpen well rested? Third time through the order? Starter not dominating? Middle of the lineup up? Check, check, check, check.
Send the starter out again, why tho

I am not sure Yoshida is that good a player, but that is not giving up. For me it's way less a "this is what he has shown that's given me confidence" thing as much as it's, even though Japan isn't the same quality competition, he was simply way too good at hitting for so long for me to think he doesn't have some kind of adjustment in him. This start has obviously changed what I think is the ceiling/floor outcomes for him, but I am buying stock in him on the dip right now just based on his own precedent.

Casas kills me with the lack of solid contact on middle middle. Yeah, but he just might draw a walk!

Pivetta’s teases will haunt dreams for decades. Guy is Buchholz all over. Sigh.

Jake Pivetta doesn’t suck at baseball. Completely competent outing tonight.

I’m not being a d—k about this: what do people see in Yoshida that suggests imminent breakout? He looks lost to me. Late on fastballs, flailing on slow stuff. Nicely done

Walking is good for your healthy when you’re an offense! The 3 last runs came on BBs

There's been a lot of hand-wringing over which starter should go be the long guy/versatile weapon in the bullpen but the other side of that is Winckowski's early season success has made it not an urgent need in terms of bolstering the pen itself, which is a very nice development.

I’m going to keep asking why Casas is batting 6th! Bat him 9th. That way if he walks we will have the top of the order up. Because that’s the only way he gets on base. Duran deserves the 6th hole and maybe even 4th with Yoshida 6th.

The Kiké walk might have been a strikeout Definitely was. Was watching on the Brewers’ feed and it had plenty of the strike zone. Just going by Gameday the zone has been pretty small but equally so for the most part, so I'm fine with it

I'd throw Winckowski out there again for the 8th.

I have no idea how Duran is able to swing comfortably while locking his left pinky and right pointer finger. Not that I've been looking closely but I've never seen someone do that.
