We got #12, Yankees didn't get lucky. I'll take it. Aren't the Yankees still in the running for a top six pick? No three playoff teams in top 18 mean all three teams that could drop did drop

I'm reading Cleveland only had a 2% shot at the 1st pick, that's wild. Good for them I don't dislike Cleveland.

Extremely disappointed in not having a top 10 pick. They were the 13th worst team right? Could be worse

I’ve seen him as high as like 2 or 3 in some places, this would certainly be an exciting selection even if I’m on record saying I’d shade floor in the first round. Not trying to evade the paywall entirely, but could you rattle off like the three next college guys after this pick?

Also the 3 college picks before him as we hope someone like Teel will drop again.

How many teams are in eligible next year for the lottery? It must be a good number.

Okay, they definitely missedthe tier drop in college guys then, at least in my opinion and at this very early stage.

stevedillard posted 2 mocks on page 2 of this thread. Mayo had Griffin 3 and Doyle had him 4 so he would be a good get.
I understand picking best player available but I can't help but wonder if there might be a change of draft philosophy to take pitching higher, especially considering the lack of quality arms currently in the system.
How about the top college arm that falls to 12? Mayo listed Brody Brecht, Chase Burns, Hagen Smith, Thatcher Hurd, and Jac Caglianone currently as first rounders.

Bingo , Breslow is gonna go best available college pitcher available , he’s gonna really built up the farm with arms , especially with the ridiculous prices of starting pitching

How many teams are in eligible next year for the lottery? It must be a good number. Revenue sharing recipients get two years in the lottery, everyone else gets one year in the lottery. A's are the only team ineligible next year unless the White Sox aren't able to get on the poor list
A's had the best lottery odds two years in a row, ended up with 4 and 6 and will be drafting 10th in 2025 after fielding another awful team.

I love the thought of a polished college pitcher who can rise the ranks quickly but yea round 1 should just about always be BPA. Perhaps they'll get lucky and one of the better college arms will drop to 12 and it'll line up.

I’ve never seen him play but this kind of profile makes me nervous unless they throw his bat on a bonfire and develop him exclusively on the mound. Outsized athletic position players get hurt too much. I also worry on the risk that he fills out that frame too much by the time he reaches 22 or 23 and there goes your 70 speed. So the question for me is, is his arm worth the #12 pick? Shades of Trey Ball [ducks] although Ball wasn’t this kind of specimen.
