Wtf Lester. Gives up an HR to the #8 hitter - a lefty - then the #9 hitter, then a hit on an 0-2 pitch, all so you can groove one to the best RH hitter since Manny Ramirez? Really dude?
After the game he'll tell us how great he felt.

I don't even think you can let Lester go another inning. He's just a really bad pitcher right now.
edit: And that AB by Ellsbury was as bad as it gets.

Meanwhile what ever Jobu is doing for Iglesias, Serrano needs to spread that mojo around the clubhouse.

Every time I think about trading Drew he nails a double. I'm going to consider the option more than once a month from now on.

Got to consider bringing up maybe even 2 relievers to start grooming them or positioning them for trades. Ruby for sure and see how he does. Maybe now is a good time as the starter depth seems pretty strong and Ruby is probably on an innings limit anyway.

All those pitches were outside and the ump strikes out Nava, terrible.

Man I hadn't realized just how hard Pedroia has been slumping this month, .627 ops coming in to tonight.

At what point do we say that Iglesias can actually hit a little bit? Also that was some sloppy fielding

Iglesias looks amazing. Seriously, how do you not keep playing him every day?

Iglesias looks amazing. Seriously, how do you not keep playing him every day? I'm the official Iglesias hater here, but Will Middlebrooks is .138/.194/.276 since coming off the DL, so... yeah, play Iglesias. If nothing else, two shortstops on the left side will make the pitching staff happy.

Uh oh:
@brianmacp: Daniel Nava looked like he hurt his right wrist in his previous at-bat. He didn't swing at any of the five pitches he saw in this at-bat.

If nothing else, two shortstops on the left side will make the pitching staff happy. And seriously, send down Middlebrooks and let him get refocused. He has options. Unless there are signs in BP or whatever where they really think he's close to breaking through this rut, why not get him 50ABs or so to just get himself right?

Will Middlebrooks has the worst OBP of any player with 200 PAs this year. I have no idea why he's still on the team.

Miguel Cabrera is really good at hitting a baseball.
I don't even know what to compare him to. Manny with better bat control? It's insane.

Man I hadn't realized just how hard Pedroia has been slumping this month, .627 ops coming in to tonight. You hadn't noticed probably because you can attribute this mostly to his last 9 games entering tonight. .125/.211/.125 in 38 PA. He had a 14-game hitting streak before that, ending on June 10, over which he was .321/.391/.536. June 1-10 he was just fine at .297/.395/.486. Gotta look beyond those monthly splits and dig into the game logs!

I know it's almost impossible to take Iglesias out of the lineup but WMBs has to get ABs somewhere. He's better off in AAA.

Why does Iggy need at bats every day? He already is playing in over half of the games, and while WMB and Drew continue to struggle, they need him up. He provides immense value to the team right now offensively and defensively. He was very displeased when he got sent down earlier in the year, so it's pretty obvious that sending him down would create another problem in that way.
EDIT: Oh yeah I misread that, my apologies. Yes, in regards to WMB, I completely agree.
