So we paid Proboards to keep ads out of posts. However, we have added AdSense to the header and footer of the forums. The revenue from those ads go directly to our scouting costs.

Ads-in-posts might start popping up on in the next week or so, as our 90-day free trial is up. I'll deal with it promptly when the time comes, but I just wanted to let everyone know that we could wake up one morning to ads in posts. If and when that happens, I'll get it resolved within 24 hours or so.

I think Chris mentioned this somewhere, but we may eventually allow users to have "display names" of whatever they want (including caps, spaces). We just want to get through the transition smoothly first. If anybody wants to customize their displayed screen name (caps/spaces/etc.), please post in here and I will take care of it for you when I get a chance. (login info would remain the same)

It's that time of year again - time to voice your opinion on ranking the top prospects in the Red Sox system. You know the drill - rank your top 40. Please keep the discussion to a minimum in this particular thread - this thread is specifically for taking and tallying rankings. Discussion of the rankings can go in the Meta Sub-Forum. Criteria for rankings should be your opinion of each prospect's "expected value" at the big league level. If you want some generic guidance on the Site's rankings philosophies, check out soxprospects.com/faqs.htm#ranked . We're not going to set any additional guidelines as to how you should rank prospects, except that we do ask that you follow one rule - please only vote for eligible prospects and do not exclude players from eligibility based on your own criteria. This is because we want to keep the pool of players the same across the board, so some members aren't over-excluding or over-including certain players. In order to keep it consistent, if you vote for an ineligible player, your vote will not be tallied. We'll typically try to work with you to fix up any such entries before the voting deadline. If you choose to take part, please rank the top 40. Feel free to go beyond 40, just note that players listed beyond 40 will not be tallied. Also, if you fail to get to 40, that throws off the math, so unfortunately your entry would not be tallied. Voting will go through Tuesday, September 18 at noon ET. You can edit your rankings until then. Eligibility: Prospect eligibility for this vote is based loosely on MLB "rookie" status, meaning all players in the system will be eligible unless they have exhausted their rookie status as of today, September 11, 2012. However, Ryan Lavarnway will not be eligible because he is expected to surpass the threshold in the coming days.
Here is a list of the Red Sox prospects who are eligible for this vote: William Abreu, Mario Alcantara, Michael Almanzar, Osvaldo Almengo, Jose Almonte, Anthony Amaya, Ricardo Andujar, Jonathan Aro, Mike Augliera, Chris Balcom-Miller, Matt Barnes, Luis Bastardo, Jeremiah Bayer, Ronald Bermudez, Ricardo Betancourt, Mookie Betts, Beau Bishop, Carson Blair, Xander Bogaerts, Sully Bonnelly, Jackie Bradley, Kevin Brahney, Bryce Brentz, Keaton Briscoe, Drake Britton, Dan Butler, Ty Buttrey, Jamie Callahan, Chris Carpenter, Yeiper Castillo, Garin Cecchini, Miguel Celestino, Dylan Chavez, David Chester, Caleb Clay, Jose Colorado, Iseha Conklin, Khiry Cooper, Carlos Coste, Keith Couch, Sean Coyle, William Cuevas, Jacob Dahlstrand, Jake Davies, Ivan De Jesus, Keury De La Cruz, Jose De La Torre, Robert Del Rosario, Ryan Dent, Luis Diaz, Marco Duarte, Roberto Duncan, Leonel Escobar, Jose Espitia, Junior Estrella, Willie Ethington, Jeffry Fernandez, Josh Fields, Raymel Flores, Wildyn Florian, Jose Garcia, Jason Garcia, Edwar Garcia, Andres Garcia, Carlos Garcia, Matt Gedman, Zach Gentile, Derrik Gibson, Mike Gleason, Mauro Gomez, Sergio Gomez, Aly Gonzalez, William Gonzalez, Zach Good, Javier Guerra, Dreily Guerrero, Justin Haley, Alex Hassan, Jeremy Hazelbaker, Drew Hedman, Jon Hee, Kevin Heller, Keivin Heras, Jayson Hernandez, Chris Hernandez, Peter Hissey, Brock Huntzinger, Adalberto Ibarra, Jose Iglesias, Will Inman, Brandon Jacobs, Williams Jerez, Elis Jimenez, Dedgar Jimenez, Bryan Johns, Matty Johnson, Brian Johnson, Andrew Jones, James Kang, Zach Kapstein, Braden Kapteyn, Jeremy Kehrt, Cody Koback, Kyle Kraus, Cody Kukuk, Aaron Kurcz, Greg Larson, Will Latimer, Lucas LeBlanc, Pat Light, Che-Hsuan Lin, Tzu-Wei Lin, Juan Carlos Linares, Tyler Lockwood, Deiner Lopez, Jesus Loya, Mike MacDonald, Austin Maddox, Brandon Magee, Kevin Mager, Manuel Margot, Matt Marquis, Deven Marrero, Chris Martin, Enfember Martinez, Mike McCarthy, Daniel McGrath, Oscar Melendez, Heiker Meneses, Simon Mercedes, Mike Meyers, Mike Miller, Nathan Minnich, Boss Moanaroa, Frank Montas, Nick Moore, Nick Natoli, Nefi Ogando, Gerardo Olivares, Michael Olmsted, Yunior Ortega, Luis Ortega, Edwin Osorio, Matty Ott, Henry Owens, Edinixon Pacheco, Miguel Pena, Aneudis Peralta, Oscar Perez, Randy Perez, Kendrick Perkins, Stolmy Pimentel, Yankory Pimentel, Carlos Pinales, Ryan Pressly, Mathew Price, Noe Ramirez, Victor Ramirez, Henry Ramos, Luis Ramos, Anthony Ranaudo, David Renfroe, Roberto Reyes, Wendell Rijo, Manny Rivera, Tim Roberson, Reynaldo Rodriguez, Miguel Rodriguez, Javier Rodriguez, Dioscar Romero, Cleuluis Rondon, Charle Rosario, Pete Ruiz, Felix Sanchez, Jadd Schmeltzer, Seth Schwindenhammer, Robby Scott, Kevin Segovia, Travis Shaw, Brenden Shepard, Marquez Smith, David Sopilka, Alfredo Soto, Matt Spalding, Nate Spears, Matt Spring, Nathan Striz, Kyle Stroup, Alixon Suarez, Blake Swihart, Scott Swinson, Aneury Tavarez, Francisco Taveras, German Taveras, Tony Thomas, Shaq Thompson, Gregori Titts, Jervis Torrealba, Drew Turocy, Pablo Urena, Jason Urquidez, Danny Valencia, Leonel Vasquez, Christian Vazquez, Raynel Velette, Jose Vinicio, Kolbrin Vitek, JT Watkins, Allen Webster, Jordan Weems, JB Wendelken, Ryan Westmoreland, Shannon Wilkerson, Stephen Williams, Alex Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Brandon Workman, Steven Wright, and Madison Younginer.

Place your vote for the player that you feel had the best "breakout" season in 2012. A "breakout player" is one who becomes a major prospect after previously being considered less than such, or alternatively one who rises from nowhere to vault himself into prospect status. Note that certain players like Xander Bogaerts were tabbed as "breakout players" last season. Players in their first pro seasons are also not eligible to be breakout players. Please do not vote based on who you think is the best prospect or who you think may perform better in the future. This poll will close on Sunday, September 9. Place your vote for the player that you feel had the best season in 2012. Please do not vote based on who you think is the best prospect or who you think may perform better in the future, and please only consider minor league performance. note that positional eligibility was determined by the SoxProspects Staff, primarily based on the number of games played per position. This poll will close on Sunday, September 9. All stats are cumulative for all Red Sox minor league affiliates (before Lowell's final two games).
