I've never been to XST, but I assume it's the same as regular ST. Workouts start around 8 am and go to about 11:30 or noon. Then players start coming back out around 12:45 for 1:00 games. This week would probably be intrasquad, if they're started yet. Only issue I could see is that some players did seem to get a break to go home, but it seems like they are headed back to FTM today.
You can basically come and go as you please, no tickets or special access needed. You can talk to the players freely. Just stay on the right side of the fences when drills and games are going on. Kids can ask for autographs, but the players get pissed when adults ask for autographs.

Time to voice your vote on the 2013 Community Red Sox Prospect rankings. You know the drill - rank your top 40 Red Sox prospects. Criteria for rankings should be your opinion of each prospect's "expected value" at the big league level, not solely based on ceiling, an not necessarily for the Red Sox. We're not going to set any strict guidelines as to how you should rank prospects, except that we do ask that you follow one rule - please only vote for eligible prospects and do not exclude players from eligibility based on your own criteria. The following players are eligible:

I haven't been able to recreate the justification problem. It looks okay to me in FF/IE/Chrome/Dolphin. I also looked into the code and it appears to be fine - all center tags are closed.
Is anyone experiencing the problem on an up-to-date browser?
Can anyone post a screen shot?

I wonder if that's something in your personal settings. I haven't seen that and it's certainly not supposed to be set up that way. Has anyone else had that problem?

I made a new page on the Wiki for you draftniks. The "College Commitments" page links off of the home page of the Wiki, and it lists the college commitments of Red Sox prep draftees prior to signing with Boston, dating back to 2003. For details on Red Sox draftees that did not sign, see the Unsigned Draft Picks page. Here's a link ot the college commitments page, without the top menu: wiki.soxprospects.com/College+Commitments

The message board is much improved...looks great. I'm curious, will the "look" of the main page be improved as well? Only minimal changes.

We are upgrading the SoxProspects Forum today, from ProBoards V4 to ProBoards V5. As many of you know, we changed forum hosts from Yuku to ProBoads back in September 2012. (Yuku accounts do not work on ProBoards, so everyone had to sign up for new accounts). As luck would have it, ProBoards launched a major upgrade in January. We've been working behind the scenes for the last month to put V5 into place and test it out. We hope you enjoy the new forum! Here are the three most important things to note about the upgrade:
(1) There are a ton of new features that should vastly improve your forum experience. I'll lay them out in the next post.
(2) V5 is still in Beta version. There may be a few bugs here or there, and I'm sure that there will be a few questions. Feel free to note any bugs, raise any questions, or give comments or suggestions in this thread.
(3) You do NOT have to reactivate your account. However, you will need to upgrade to a (free) global ProBoards account. It should only take a minute, and you will only need to do this once. I'll post a video below re: global accounts.

Raft - we have talked about this. It would be a lot of work to do across the board, or even for the top 20-40, but we're talking about different ideas.

This is not directed at you Charlie, but I think in general maybe we need a refresher in terms of the definition of ceiling vs. projection. Ceiling is what a player could become in a perfect world if that player reaches his maximum development. Most prospects do not reach their ceilings by 100%. Projections are what we currently profile the player to become at their peak. We currently project Iglesias a passable No. 9 hitter -- and he's not even there yet. If he does hit his ceiling on offense and become a No. 2 hitter, we are saying he might be an occasional All-Star, primarily due to his defense.
Here's the numbers for an AVERAGE #2 hitter in the major leagues in 2012: .262/.321/.393. The Red Sox in 2012 at the #2 hole: .265/.312/.397.
If he hits his ceiling, I could see Iglesias hitting something like .280/.315/.370 in his peak years. Possibly developing some situational hitting ability, maybe hitting a bunch of doubles, probably making good use of his speed. Could that be good enough to be a No. 2 hitter? Possibly. Would that make him one of the most valuable players in baseball? Probably not.
