I know Sale is good, but dang......I'd give Swihart & their choice of Miley, Owens, or Kelly,.....That said, I know they wouldn't do that, so I don't see a deal there. With all that has been said, I'm in minority of letting Swihart and Vazquez have a full year of improving their stock. Christian needs to show he is healthy and, at least, what he was.....and Blake needs to show everyone he has the ability to become a solid defensive catcher. NEITHER should be traded! I totally believe some of you are really not understanding what we have with young Blake Swihart. You don't.....you DON"T trade a catcher with his athletic ability and offensive potential. I truly believe we will be much better next season, but I'm fine with us exploding in 2017. Some of you want it all to happen immediately and are prepared to trade anyone for a quick fix. Boy I hope Dombrowski is not into quick and temporary fixes. By the winter of 2016, Vazquez will probably be 100% and will alleviate all of the other teams' concerns to whether he can be counted on to lead their staff and catch for 130+ games. He is a valuable chip, but probably not until the middle of next summer. Swihart is going to be very good. The only question is HOW good. I would bet anyone, after pushing him this last year to lead a staff in the majors before he was even ready, he will be much MUCH better! Those of you thinking he will not even be adequate are wrong. He has the arm, the work ethic, and the ability to be a PLUS catcher.....and you want to consider throwing him to any deal that fits your fancy. Smarten up! When the White Sox have another terrible year next year, the White Sox will be much more inclined to move one Chris Sale. And that trade will be without us losing a very unique talent like Swihart. I know it is difficult for you and myself to be patient, but that is a better direction to take than believing we have to win next season. And before I forget, Dave Dombrowski......please don't even consider giving too much for a reliever like Chapman unless he signs an extension.

I really like JBJ and Swihart, but if we can get a true #1 by including them with a few prospects, we should absolutely consider it. Swihart along with Joe Kelly, Henry Owens and Margot for Chris Sale would be fine by me. I don't even see Cleveland as a good match with us for a trade. Yes, Salazar and Carrasco both would be a good fit in our rotation, but Cleveland needs bats. Who do we send over? They don't NEED Swihart, plus he is not a proven hitter at the MLB level... yet. Bogaerts, Betts, Ortiz and Pedroia are not getting traded. Ramirez will require us to pick up most of his salary for the next three years and include a prospect or two. Plus, how many clubs want him on their team... Castillo needs to improve his trade value. Right now we will be selling low. Who is left? Sandoval? Well, he did not hit too well... plus see Ramirez. The guys that can hit on our team we are not trading. I think a third team who wants prospects needs to be involved.... Ramirez is the only player we are willing to trade that can help Cleveland right now. Why would they send away a very good pitcher??

I would love to trade Ramirez to Cleveland, or anyone, but were probably not getting much more than a good reliever or some outfield depth. No way we get Carrasco, let alone having them take on the contracts of Buchholz and Castillo. We need to hold on to Castillo and hope he improves. Buchholz may get traded, but those injury questions really limit his value. We should keep him as our #3 and take the 20 starts.

Betts for Grey is a joke. I would not even trade him for Harvey let alone Grey. Swihart in a deal for Sale is something to consider, obviously other pieces, but giving up something to get something really applies here. Swihart along with Guerra and maybe pitchers Johnson and Ball?
