Yeah... i am too hard on the guy...i promised myself i would not post about him. It's unfair and I wish I could stop. BTW, they won't pick up the option. He's gone. Gone as in another team maybe. But the only scenarios where Buchholz doesn't get his option picked up is if he gets seriously hurt or an asteroid strikes the earth. Bye bye Buch There will be cheaper and better options this winter. Dombrowski won't make the same mistake twice

This is starting to feel like 2011 Farrell is not the right Manager for this team going forward but in his defense the Offense has to HIT the ball.. 4 hitters in the lineup are young players with not much experience, add Leon and AB and there might be the problem with mental fatigue here late in the season.. You have to win Home series

Its amazing how awful this team is with men on base. I think there are stats to show that the Sox are in fact not that dreadful with men on base/in scoring position in most situations. Well, Kimbrel didn't EXACTLY blow it, but he put the wheels in motion. Davis' double was on a ball low inside, out of the zone (at least, according to pitch tracker). Sometimes s**t happens. How do you justify walking the leadoff hitter ? You cannot walk batters as a reliever. Your right about the hit, it happens..

I guess ERod, at 100 pitches, could come out to start the 8th, but I'd rather take him out. The problem is, with Wright such a question mark and Buchholz so unpredictable, compounded by his recent usage, we've GOT to have a strong ERod down the stretch. You can't try to let him have a chance at something special, overtax his arm, and burn him out or have any risk of injury. No hits. You bring him out. Yes, If Farrell is paying attention there should be somebody warming

I sorta downplayed the injury to Koji a little bit and was hopelessly wrong to do so (although, in my defense, I said it was a problem mainly because the depth of the bullpen was thrashed). Will be very nice to have him back this week. Having Koji-Kimbrel in 8th/9th will make it easier to match up other relievers in 6th/7th. Wright's situation is the only thing keeping me from declaring the Sox the best team in the AL (and possibly baseball). Still very well may be, though, depending on Clay's performance. Nothing will be easy with JFarrell

Groome with his best Kopech impression, 2.2 no hit innings with 4 walks Groome is far from a finished product. Much work to do after this outing..

Farrell wants to be his players' friend. He wants the players to work things right, and he thinks he can fix them by trusting them. meaning he may make a good shrink, but he is getting paid to manage players to produce wins. This is why he is a career .500 manager. And far worse if not for 2013 - a team with so much leadership and motivation that it could practically manage itself. Leyland is coming boys, it won't be to much longer...

Why was there no move on the roster if they knew Ziegler could not pitch? Could have easily called up Kelly and sent down Hernandez
