Hamstring tightness.
Still sucks, but a lot better than re-aggravating that knee.

You can't be serious.
Hope it's just precautionary. Just when the rotation was starting to look like it could be rock-solid...

Aaand exhale.
Good win. Props to Pomeranz for a very good outing and his first win in Boston.

JBJ!
Love it. No reason this dude should be shutting this offense down.

This is one game where I question the accuracy of the various FIP models as tools to evaluate the pitcher's performance. When a pitcher gives up several runs on bloops and grounders, then yeah, it's fair to say that he's probably pitching better than his results. That was not this. These hits were crushed all over the park - or out of it. His ERA was 49 something. There is no stat that doesn't break when you give up 9 runs in less than 2 innings. Granted. I realize that. I'm just saying that the "he got unlucky" argument becomes irrelevant at some point when you get hit that hard. Yeah, luck wasn't on his side. He still sucked, and FIP misses that. Anyway, I've said my piece.

And I would agree, if it actually said that. What it says is that he should give up 1.5 runs if he pitches an entire game at that level of performance, which IMO is silly.

I think Greinke hasn't had very good luck in this game, giving up 359 foot and 360 foot home runs to go along with a .778 BABIP. 48.60 ERA and a 1.53 xFIP This is one game where I question the accuracy of the various FIP models as tools to evaluate the pitcher's performance. And then JBJ almost knocked Pesky Pole down.
What an explosion for the offense.

Fairly surprised to see Buchholz on there. Even in his 'on' years I don't think of him as a strikeout pitcher. Pedro is less surprising.

Still struggling to put guys away with two strikes.
Adequate for a spot start. Can't really complain.
Need the offense and bullpen to step up now.

Sharp first inning for Buch. Hit the mitt with nearly everything.
Edit: Not quite as crisp in the second, though he got squeezed on a couple of pitches to the first batter. Double play helped.

It wasn't a gem by any means, but Price got the job done nonetheless.

Have to score about five more runs with Price on the mound. Go offense! Your wish has been granted!

Just hit grounders. We've hit four so far and the DBacks infield has misplayed all of them.

Xander's defense...has not looked good. He hasn't been himself in either phase of the game for some time now. Wonder if he's nursing some nagging injury... Or perhaps just wearing down a bit.
