Game one of the double header against the orioles was a great game for the bullpen!

Come on Murphy. 5 innings , 4 earned runs. , 4 walks. 4 ks. I pitcher him in the bullpen when he gets to the show. Actually Bello is a lock. I think these kids will help the pen a lot in Boston but Bello def. A starter. Control was a bit of an issue today!

I would like to see Vazquez resigned, provided we limit his innings a bit and not burn him out.

I don't think your being too bullish on Sale, I also expect him to be back on top. That projection also has Houck with a higher war. That would be great for Houck but this projection for Sale is a joke to me. So many projections are that I take them with a grain of salt, meaningless. And in my mind it blows holes in the whole analytic revolution if these projections are what they come up with. Granted pitching is hard to predict but projecting Sale to have that kind of year has no merit. The 2.4 WAR projection for Sale, btw, is my own, so no credit or abuse to Steamer, and comes from prorating his 2021 WAR/production to 130 innings. I thought that was somewhat sane because he actually pitched pretty well in 2021 (3.69 FIP) and I wouldn't bet on him returning to 2015-2017 Sale, though if he does it's a huge win. If you assume he'll be some combination of 2018-2021 Sale, and average his WAR/inning production from 2018-2021 and pro rate it for 150 innings, you get 4.7 fWAR Does the change up return for sale in 2022? Could be a large year for him if it does.

Schwarber’s addition helped balance our lineup as far as lefty-righty. He also was patient at the plate and that patience rubbed off on some of the others hitters in the lineup in a positive way.
Surely we can find an alternative in case he signs elsewhere.

His command last game was much better than earlier in the year.
But I did not notice much velocity change from earlier in the year.

Bloom spent his money last offseason with one decent “name” signing, Hernandez, and a bunch of under the radar type guys. Why would he change that process this offseason? Especially since he knows he has to improve our overall depth. It changes this off-season because they've literally said they're staying under the cap this season and will make splashes in free agency moving forward. I have heard bloom say repeatedly that he wants to build an organization that can consistently compete and is sustainable. I am not sure that he can do that with large free agent signings crippling his ability to build depth and be flexible.

Was the depth of our team hurt by having guys on the 40 man roster that are absolutely too low in the system to help the major league club?
I understand we don’t want to lose guys like groome and potts, but there was no way to call up guys from triple a when injuries hit that could have helped last month because they were not on the 40 man roster! (Munoz, ort, espinal)

Jeez with yorke and blaze playing the way they have. Bloom might have robbed the bank in last years draft. Don’t sleep on the kid from Hawaii as a reliever.

Downs 0-4 4K, hitting .188. Anybody have any explanation for what happened to him this year? Maybe we should send him to an eye doctor. He clearly is not seeing pitches properly.

Salem put up 7 runs in the bottom of the 6th to take a 9-0 lead, but Kwiatkowski and Fernandez gave those runs back in the top of the 7th. Fernandez is still in for the 8th, bases currently loaded for Lynchburg. ADD: He got out of it with a lineout double play turned by Yorke. When does yorke get promoted? After a really slow start to the season, he has made a lot of contact over the past two months.

How much longer does Yorkk stay where he is?
I think he has earned a promotion. I know cannon isn’t kind of blocking his path, but surely something can be worked out.

Reed with his second AA HR. The hitting hasn't stopped since he got promoted. We may not want to sleep on this guy. Or the guy that got promoted with him! That guy may be limited defensively, but he can put a bat on a pitch.

Devers and bogey are the organization’s corner stones. We need to focus on keeping them and filling in the line up around them.
He have some really potential high end position players coming up to augment those two.
We also have some potentially high end relievers in the pipeline as well.
1.) sign bogey and devers long term. 2.) keep finding starters from other organizations like pivetta for example. 3.) keep upgrading talent in the minors and developing high end position players and relievers. (A starter or two would also help, but let’s not get greedy or unrealistic.) 4.) continue to fill in where needed with low cost quality. And hopefully they come from winning organizations.

Whichever (Chavis or Wilson) is not traded to Pittsburgh, would look good in arizona!

Joe Davis up to Greenville, Ricardo Cubillan and Tyreque Reed to Portland. Davis and reed were long over due. Congrats to both! Between them they must have close to a hundred RBI’s this year.

Maybe we need a second fcl team next year!
I guess most of these draft picks and UDFA are just going to hang around the practice fields for the rest of the season!

I would like us to acquire 2 under the radar relievers that are an upgrade over Brice and andriese.
Somewhere between arizona, Colorado, Miami, Atlanta, Pittsburgh and Washington there are two relievers we can trade for, that the baseball analytics department calculates as fits.
