Pacers and Knicks beating each other up - series will go 7. More rest for us. The ECF is starting Tuesday no matter who wins this game. The Nuggets losing last night already determined that. He mightve meant more rest compared to the other team.

Woj reporting Porzingis expected out games 1 and 2 of the ECF.
Sounds like they hope he’ll come back mid series.

Rjp my friend, THIS is a superstar game by Tatum. Great offense, but he’s so much more than a scorer. Terrific defense, stout rebounding, smart reads. Probably his best game in this postseason thus far, his defense really killed the game for good. He even hit a pull up three, lol

Is Tatum better than the last year or two? He is very good obviously but it seems like he makes the same mistakes.
Brown, yeah I would agree he is getting better.

The Mavs completely collapsed at home. Had a big lead for most of the game. Shot like 50% from the free throw line.

Eh. I'm factoring in 9/9 from the line for Tatum and that he had to take some tough shots as the clock expired... He still takes too many threes. Both the Jays had too many turnovers.
Jrue just played a very smart and tough game in many different ways.

The Jays and JRue had great games tonight.

That Jaylen turnaround J was unreal.

We’re lucky to be up ten here. Doubled our lead with Brown out.

Id rather not see Hauser in there. Too much of a defensive liability. We need defense not three point shooting right now.
We got torched from three while he was in the game.

Im the first one to criticize Mazzulla’s lack of timeout use (you can’t take them home with you). Let me be the first to say that was an AWESOME use of an early timeout.

Great win but completely agreed. Cavs kept hooking Tatum on drives uncalled. The one play Jaylen finished through Strus completely mauling him to no call was ludicrous. At the same time they just call less in general in the playoffs. Sometimes Tatum pushes off and doesn't get called either. I’m not one to partake in such discussions, but the offensive foul called on Tatum where Mitchell was grabbing him and the play where Mitchell egregiously shoved White made me call foul play. NBA must have realized nobody gives a crap about the Cavs during halftime and the fix was cancelled. I am one to partake in such discussions. I can’t help myself lol.

There have been some questionable calls in some of those blown leads in the regular season and it seemed to usually happen on the road. One of them I remember was against the Pacers where they called a foul on a play the Celtics were about to score then retracted the foul, then they did the same thing on the other end but in reverse and the Pacers won because of it.
I know its not a popular opinion with serious sports fans but it happened again last night even though we won.
The Celtics were getting mauled in that run where they put the game away and there were some pretty bad non calls. They also called a random offensive foul on Tatum at one point I think in the 3rd.

Somebody has to take those shots when the shot clock is running out. Its generally been Tatum and Brown this game.
Horford and White haven’t been hitting their shots, and thats the main reason, other than a few bad turnovers this isn’t over yet.

Mitchell is at 32 minutes going into the fourth. If we D him up hard we should win.

Man I was terrified to see Pritchard guarding Mitchell there. Great final close to the 3rd getting a three then a stop.

That defensive possession where Mitchell got double teamed is exactly what I was looking for.

I am a bit surprised there hasn’t been more of a focus to wear down Mitchell.
That worked super well in game one and he was gassed at the end of that game.

Well…

When Tatum isn’t playing well offensively, it affects the rest of his game. He complains to the refs, doesn’t get back on defense, picks up frustration fouls and the like. What game are you watching? He’s leading the team in rebounds, assists and blocks. Affects the rest of his game? He’s taken too many pull up 3s tonight. Other than that he’s controlling the game. I don’t get how people haven’t seen how good he’s been when his shots aren’t falling. Its a nit pick but the pull up 3s has been an issue for a long time now. Not sure why him or the coaching staff hasn’t adjusted that part of his game.

Hero mode Tatum sucks. It kills the rest of the offense, he’s inefficient (taking the worst kind of contested long jumpers) and makes it easy for the other defense. Im also confused why this hasn’t been addressed yet. Its been an issue in years past and if anything its got worse. The quick pull up 3s in particular are brutal. Especially since he sometimes does does it when the team is on a hot streak and it throws ice water on that.
