We can't have steroids in the game because it sets a bad example for The Children. Before I explain to you the actual reason steroids should be banned let me just check... you don't really think this is the reason, do you? It's not the single reason, but it's certainly one of the arguments (remember those congressional hearings?). And in general, the "athletes are roll models" theory is generally accepted in the sports world. www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-05-02/baseball-hall-study-says-athlete-steroid-use-may-encourage-teens.htmlAgain, please explain to me why steroid use is evil, but felonious assault is Teh Awesome.

Good lord Salty is horrendous behind the plate.

Repeat for the tenth time here.. Salty flat out cannot throw. Nunez was easily out at 2nd, without Dempster not even paying attention to him. All Salty had to do was not bounce yet another throw both off the mark and sideways of 2b to the bag, but that is how he gets most of his throws there.
Get over this infatuation of this guy people. He is a lousy catcher.

Give him a break. He got it within 10 feet of the bag.

Again, please explain to me why steroid use is evil, but felonious assault is Teh Awesome. I can't explain to you why intentional HBP are awesome because I don't think they are. The problem with steroids is that there is a significant change that they have long-term negative health effects, and if others in the league use them then professional players who are worried about these effects and don't really want to use them may feel compelled to do so nevertheless in order to level the playing field. That is why steroids need to be banned in professional sports. (And I could care less what your silly farce of a parliament thinks, BTW.)

Again, please explain to me why steroid use is evil, but felonious assault is Teh Awesome. Steroid gives you an advantage over the field, it's like those old school FPS that had cheats that made you invincible. It's cheating. Felonious assault gives you no advantage over the field. That's why we can't have people roiding it up. But you knew that already, I guess.

I must say -- this is an interesting game to be bunting, in the 4th inning. Farrell must not have a lot of faith in the bottom of the lineup that he is trying to squeeze out one run here.

Nice opposite field shot by Will. Hopefully Dempster can keep this lead.

And that's why we all hope Middlebrooks can get it together in Boston. Awesome power when he squares one up.

That sounded really good. When are they going to move WMB up in the lineup?

Now if Nava had actually tried to get on base we might be leading 6-3 with only 1 out. When exactly did we become a small-ball team?

Lets relax on calling what Dempster did a felony or assault.

Besides it's not as if baseball doesn't have a system to catch and punish cheaters, they do, Dempster needs to put his job and responsabilities to the team above personal agendas. I think the red sox should fine him for being such a large idiot.

Middlebrooks takes off 60 games from MLB and he's still 3rd on the Sox in HRs.

Very nice Will Middlebrooks. Oppo into the pen. Yeah let's remember that not every right handed hitter can hit the ball into the pen at Fenway. Has Napoli even done that?

Farrell explaining to ESPN that A-Rod didn't get drilled intentionally was kinda funny.

Lets relax on calling what Dempster did a felony or assault. I mean, what Dempster did does, strictly speaking, constitute assault and battery.

Has Napoli even done that? wapc.mlb.com/play/?content_id=27504051&c_id=mlbNapoli actually has pretty impressive power to all fields, as seen in his home run chart. He's not one of those Cody Ross/Mike Lowell types that only really has pull power.

Did Schilling really just refer to Nava as a "young player" multiple times? Since when is 30 young?

Not defending Dempster but if that is assault and battery then a runner running in to a player to breakup a DP or a runner running over the catcher is also assault. Baseball is a violent game.
