Xander would have more hits today if Farrell hadn't mismanaged him somehow.

Ellsbury's foot getting X-rays (rumor). Lovely.

Right hander coming in to face Napoli. It would be nice if Farrell had a lefty pinch hitter to counter with, but Mike Carp's missionary work in Haiti comes first of course.

What an at-bat by Salty. If only Nava hadn't been an idiot two ABs before.
edit: I'm a big fan of pinch-hitting for Xander here.

Farrell has done a wonderful job of inspiring confidence in Bogaerts. Just wonderful.

It worked, but still a terrible decision.

Did I not tell you guys all day Carp is the man? I'm honestly not even surprised.

I can't wait until they fire this sorry excuse for a manager at the end of the season.

Farrell has done a wonderful job of inspiring confidence in Bogaerts. Just wonderful. Seriously. He has some misplaced sense of loyalty to Napoli, but shows no confidence in the guy who is going to anchor his lineup for the next six years plus.

Guys, Bogaerts is a 20 year old playing a tight race in a very, very big game. If he can't handle being PH for, he can't handle being in the majors.
Carp was the better option right now and it worked. Stop overthinking everything, jesus.

So THAT'S why the front office called Bogaerts up, to give Farrell a righty that he'll actually be willing to pinch hit Carp for.

I dont think you can carp about that hit no matter what it looked like.
(sorry, couldn't resist.)

Carp was the better option right now and it worked. Stop overthinking everything, jesus. Just because it worked does not mean it was the proper place to use Carp. Just because Xander is not sitting in the corner crying, does not mean it was the correct move. I generally do not criticize Farrell. I really do not. That was a silly decision. Carp was better used in place of Napoli either pinch hitting or starting.

It worked, but still a terrible decision. LOL! It's taking the counter-factual in all new directions! The unprovable counter-factual to a successful decision is an even more successful decision. If Xander's confidence is destroyed by being pinch-hit for in his first couple weeks of major league ball, he's a) not the guy he seems to be, and b) in serious trouble as a prospect.
