There's plenty of blame to go around - the issue is that Brady gets almost none of it when, quite frankly, he's been well-below average the entire season.
He had Dobson wide open near the end of the game, and instead of actually looking at where Dobson was going, he decided to throw it to where he thought Dobson would be. That's fine when you've been throwing to a guy like Welker for five years, but when you and a rookie have trouble getting on the same page, maybe you should adjust?
He did the exact same thing in the Bucs game - it's like Brady has his mind set on throwing to one spot, and it doesn't matter what actually transpires during a play. That needs to stop.

Eh, to be fair, on the Dobson play, he started his throwing motion before Dobson broke inside. Plus, the safety was reading the ball, and there's a good chance it would have been broken up even if Brady threw to the right part of the field.

No, he threw it before Dobson even had a chance to break - he's done that a lot this season, too. He should stop.

Are you serious? Against a zone you cant be waiting to see which way he goes. If you start your throwing motion after they break they know where you are going and the defender is gonna be there before the receiver. Maybe on a short pass you have a shot to wait but definitely not on a long one.

You have to keep the safeties guessing in a two-deep zone, otherwise they're going to get a great break on the ball.

Arrington is a dreadful #2 corner.
edit: It doesn't get any worse than Arrington.

This defensive gameplan is just awful. Vanilla cover-two coverage is going to get crappy corners burned, especially when they can't get any pressure when rushing four and refuse to blitz on third down.

Not to mention the fact that Geno Smith is terrible when pressured (throws rushed picks, runs backwards for 15 yard sacks, etc). The Patriots have to play more high-risk/high-reward coverages on third down-- Kerley vs. Arrington and Cumberland vs. a linebacker are big mismatches, and Geno's going to find them inevitably if he has enough time in the pocket.

It's kind of nice having Gronk back.

I know we got a bunch of dudes banged up and out on D but we are getting shredded. Frustrating to watch. I really like hightower but don't understand why they don't sub in fletcher in the nickel because he has struggled covering today.

They continue to play the heavy LBs because the DL is beat up. Well, guess what? Hightower and Spikes can't cover or tackle in space, and the heavy defensive line can't both rush the passer and hold contain at the same time. This is Belichick being outcoached and not making the necessary adjustments. The offense isn't doing them any favors, either. The Jets have a great run defense, but they haven't run any of the draws or screens that are necessary to keep a defense off-balance.

Also I think it would be wise to get in the 2 minute offense to speed this game up a bit, change the tempo. Anyway I hate the ffing jets, we better pull this out.

The Jets are winning the battle at the line in both phases of the game. Just out-coaching and out-executing the Patriots. Now, it's gut-check time.

McDaniels needs to throw in some quick screens, draws, or play-action here. Need to slow down the rush.

Havent seen a hole lot of Collins the rookie. Jeez with the struggle covering from the lb position I would think he'd be playing more. Idont know, We need to score here.

I legitimately wish bad things on the people running the NFL. They're doing everything in their power to ruin the game.

bogus penalty, but surprising to see how many "off" passes today. #12 can't do it all himself, but with so many injuries on D it would really depend on the cost being low to make a move for a WR for this year.....
Unless one of the kids comes on pretty quick, this is looking like a team that maybe wins 1 playoff game at best....

They're missing Vereen/Woodhead a lot. Bolden's not much of a blocker or outlet receiver. Tom has also just been inaccurate all season long.
