So who think Salty will get a qualifying offer. He probably has about the same chance of Drew receiving one. So 90%? At least Drew can field his position whereas Salty looks Varitek bad (at the end of his Red Sox career) at the plate and he is barely passable in the field.

Goddamnit, Drew. That was almost a great AB.

I have never seen a big league hitter do that

There is nothing that will get me to believe that Drew's D is good enough to warrant this. Middlebrooks at 3rd Bogaerts at SS and let it ride.

This ump is all over the place tonight Just in this half inning, he's been bafflingly inconsistent.

Dave O'Brien questioning Drew's "automatic out" in lineup.

This ump is all over the place tonight Just in this half inning, he's been bafflingly inconsistent. He's probably anticipating balls and strikes like he anticipated the DP in game 1. The NFL would've replaced him as part of their playoff crews after game 1 as well, btw. Just awful.

Thats a fail...lead off triple, and throw in a walk for first and third no outs, K, weak gb, K is a fail...Alot of people will jump on Peavey for only going 4 but if the offense wasnt inept we would still be out there. It wasnt pretty but 2 runs allowed in the first 4 innings should be enough and what you would expect from Peavey. This is all on the line-up at this point.
Edit-Using Doubront in this game almost makes this a must win now, No way you can count on Clay for anything tomorrow and now who goes long?

Can't we just give the St. Louis pitching some credit? They've been good the last two games, and the Sox have consistently shown this year that, while they may be statistically the best offense in the majors, they CAN get shut down by top-flight pitching. And Kelly has apparently shown a lot tonight.

For all the doom and gloom, they're only down one run with the heart of the order coming up and a tiring Kelly.

How did ump qualify for the World Series. That is downright incompetent right there.

SHANFF's first BB since mid-September! Let's turn it into the tying run.

SHANFF's first BB since mid-September! Let's turn it into the tying run. Prediction: If the Sox can get another man on and Xander comes to the plate this inning, Kelly does not pitch to him. Which turns out to be a nonsensical prediction, since Kelly has already been pulled.

The Red Sox should protest this game. Never seen a bigger discrepancy in calls in my life.
