But beyond being ticked about the Series, I'm proud of the season they've had. They displayed a ton of courage and they are to be commended and remembered fondly for that.

I mean really, the best offesnse in baseball is hitting like the astro's Bill Shaikin ?@billshaikin 9m #RedSox now batting .176 in World Series, with 32 K in 108 AB. We were lucky to win the DET series frankly

Hell of an effort by Clay, really brave of him. I wish the bats would see that and, you know, actually do something against Lance goddamn Lynn.

Well all season we saw that this team likes to strike out, but these playoffs its become an epidemic. Even guys with high contact rates like Ells and Pedey have been K'ing quite frequently.

That's one way to keep Gomes from grounding into a DP.

Why on earth would they even pitch to Papi?

We were lucky to win the DET series frankly I'd agree with that, but watching Detroit they had those four awesome starters and as it turned out very little else. I was surprised by that. The Sox got lucky that Cabrera was hurt. That was huge. But Fielder should have been voted MVP of that Series - for the Red Sox. Their bullpen was far worse than I thought. I felt once they got past Peralta in the batting order, there were free outs for the Sox pitchers. But yes, when you figure that starters who go 7 strong innings usually result in wins, the Sox stole pretty much all those games. Again, gutsy and lucky Red Sox. The Cards are a complete team with a good bullpen loaded with depth. Despite that if the Sox had taken proper care of the ball we'd be excited about seeing the Sox go back to Fenway with a chance to win it all. I mean the one thing I'd love to see that nobody has ever seen is the Red Sox clinching a Championship at Fenway Park - hasn't happened since the first year of Fenway when the 1912 Red Sox won the Series at home. I thought the Cards would win the Series in 5 games before the Series and for the first time this year I might be right and pray that I'm wrong, but the Sox could have been up at least two games to one or even three games to none.

Time for another Drew brother to break out of a big slump.

Yes, but there's this palpable feeling that this inning isn't going to amount to anything unless Xander makes it happen. If he can't drive something, what, realistically, are Drew and Ross going to do?

Got to give props to Buchholz and giving 4 solid innings and one unearned run. Exceeded my expectations leading up to this game.

Pitcher is melting down and Drew swings at the first pitch. And Mr. Intangible fails to go to 3rd on the throw. Brutal.

Really displeased with how Drew and Carp approached Lynn there.

And Carp repeats the mental error. Unbelievable.

Why PH for Buck with 2 outs? Didn't he already depleted the BP yesterday?

what ever happend to a PH taking the first pitch for a look? WMB and now Carp the last two games. Especially with Lynn getting a little wild, give-away at bat there by Carp.

Pitcher is melting down and Drew swings at the first pitch. You meant Carp, right? At least Drew did his job.

Why PH for Buck with 2 outs? Didn't he already depleted the BP yesterday? Doubront will go a second day in a row, and Dempster should be able to grab a couple innings.

Pinch hitting Carp there is the right move. Swinging at the first pitch was not.
