We need to ride Doubront for as many innings as possible now. St Louis looks uncomfortable against him, but have had good swings against both Breslow and Uehara. Agreed. It's not like the Sox bench is loaded with great pinchhitters. Only Napoli is good and if the Sox are leading the Sox can afford the out with Doubront if he's pitching well.

It has seemed impossible to get one out to left in the last two ganes, that had to have been a bomb.

Hopefully Papi told everyone "If any of you a-holes make a bad throw to 3rd base I am going to choke you out."

The big question is: will doubront hit in the top of the 7th? He's been dominant

I better see Doubront batting this inning. I do not want to see him out of this game.

These outings by Doubront cannot go under-appreciated. He has been HUGE, and looked absolutely dominant. That rest has really done him some good. Felix, fix those "conditioning issues" this offseason and come to camp in February in the best shape of your life!

Heck, if he's got "something intangible" that he's getting outs with, then if you're going to play intangibles with Gomes, then play intangibles here.

If Ells could drag one up the first base line he could have a hit against Fat Adams, who has been playing well behind the bag.

Glad to see The Doubie Brother hitting there. He's been fantastic and I'd take another 2 innings out of him.
Of course if it backfires this board will go berserker.

That was a fat pitch to Gomes but he nailed it. We needed that badly. Now we can hopefully ride this out to tie things up.

Could Doubront start game 7 if it comes to that? If so, wouldn't it be better not to overwork him tonight?

Smart move to take him out, his stuff was pretty much non existent against the past 2 hitters. Bringing Breslow in, on the other hand, makes me very very nervous.

I really hope this works, because I've never seen a manager personally blow two World Series games in a row before.

Not sold on this move, Breslow has had issues throwing strikes, I can see if we were going with the righty here, oh well let's see how it plays out.

The difference between the Holliday and Robinson ABs were night and day. Doubront came in sharp hitting his spots and a tick or two over his normal velocity this season. He was gassed by the Descalso AB.
