This is sacrilege but I feel the same way watching Koji as I felt watching Mo' when he gets two strikes on hitters

Now - let's see if second time around with the weight of the season on his head, Wacha looks more human.

Nice win, great team, really fun to follow this year. If the Sox close this out, will be nice to see if finally happen at Fenway ... both '04 and '07 ended on the road.

What a great, great win. Lester has answered all his critics this postseason. Few other pitchers are this good this late, especially when they've thrown as many innings as Lester has (mid-start, he passed Justin Verlander for most pitches thrown in baseball in 2013). Call him whatever you want, but he's impressed me so, so much in the past few weeks.

He's a terrific pitcher and I'm happy to see him heading this rotation. Just a fantastic win all around.

I was never nasty about Lester, but I really thought the days of dominance for him were over. I have no idea what happened to his cutter, where it went and how he found it again, but he's been the horse of the pitching staff this entire postseason.

That was a fantastic win! Exactly what the doctor ordered. 7th inning rally with 2 out clutch hits where David Ortiz didn't have to get involved. The bullpen other than Koji rested and Lester wasn't taxed to the point where pitching some in a potential Game 7 is impossible - let's just hope the Sox offense finally breaks out in Game 6, beats up Wacha, and makes all of our dreams come true!

I'd rather hate him in april and may then in October but it's frustrating to watch him lose his cool during season knowing he can hold it together like this and people don't think players don't change their focus.... Jk lets leave that alone... Who's gonna be there with me Wednesday?

About Lester - still don't know if he's an "ace". That can be disputed. What can't be disputed is that Jon Lester is a post-season ace and from where I'm sitting right now, that's a helluva lot more important at the moment.

It was really frustrating to watch Lester in the first half. I really dislike some of his behavior on the mound at times, but I think the overwhelming backlash is just due to high expectations. He was very good in the 2nd half and he has been dominant in the postseason.

I don't care if people don't think its a thing. Sign him to an extension... Emotional decisions are the best.

Surprised about Lester and the most number of pitches. It would seem that several pitchers have more innings. For example Wainwright. Kershaw maybe.
The Fielding Bible awards showed Pedroia winning another one at 2nd. His positioning was excellent today. Stuff like that has more of an impact than we sometimes think about.
Simmons with 41 defensive runs saved. Wow!

Sorry, I didn't mean to start this silly debate again. I just wanted to appreciate Jon Lester for what he did tonight, and all postseason. Just pure, unadulterated dominance. Beautiful stuff.

I have no idea what happened to his cutter, where it went and how he found it again, but he's been the horse of the pitching staff this entire postseason. Lester has been the same pitcher for a long time, someone who loses his rythm and repeatability for stretches, then regains it. When he does he dominates, just a great performer. It's pretty clear he was ready for this series. I suggested at the beginning of the season that he and Buccholz could be comparable to all the other names that were being thrown around. So it was. They gave the team more than enough to help put then in this spot.

Me too... First well played game of the series top to bottom and a phenomenal outing from Lester and the D including his own. This Xander guy really 21?
