Oh the humanity the Red Sox don't have a Kershaw or Hernandez in their system. I forgot they grew on trees.

Another solid list. Minor nitpick, but Swihart should be a 55 field IMO. He's a clear step up from a guy like Sanchez - especially when you split out his arm.
Still, it's nice to see him with the top hit and run grade of everyone on the list.

We will have a much clearer picture after a year at Portland. Athletic, comparatively fast, an excellent attitude, off season training, he could turn into a 60+.

In the comments:
wahoo66 6 hours ago The best hitter on this list is probably going to be Swihart. The best defender is probably going to be Hedges. I voted for d'Arnaud because I expect him to be best all around.

I think all three of those assessments could come true.

Travis Shaw is ranked 8th on the first basemen list. Pretty surprising considering he's ranked 42nd on this site. Probably speaks to the weakness of that position in the entire Minor Leagues.

I'm sure most of it us weakness at first, but some is probably them having more respect for Shaw then the site rankers do.

Their opening paragraph:
First base currently offers the lowest prospect potential among all the positions, with Houston's Jonathan Singleton the lone member of this Top 10 who was able to crack MLB.com's overall Top 100. Mets 2013 first-round pick Dominic Smith could jump to the top of the list of first basemen once he establishes himself in full-season ball this year.
It's pretty pathetic. When you are citing AFL stats as an indication of a major turnaround for the #3 prospect, you have to figure it's incredibly weak.

Agree. This is why it makes no sense when people freak out about having the 1B of the future in the system. Many future 1B are playing elsewhere in the minors.

If you're starting out as a prospect at 1B, it puts so much pressure on your bat. It's one step up from LF.

I just went to the catchers and tried clicking on the second basemen. It's showing not clickable. Interesting enough though, the link you just provided shows the top 100 draft prospects for 2014.

It has apparently become custom to give second basemen totally awesome names.

BTW, seeing those grades how is Betts not ranked #1? His power and run are higher rated than Wong and other tools are equal.

Always thought Rougned has the coolest name in baseball.
On another note, they have Betts arm strength at 45, our profile has him at solid average to better (55). A 45 arm isn't going to play shortstop.

A 45 arm isn't going to play shortstop. I tend to trust the Red Sox in knowing if he has the arm for SS. They haven't been making many development mistakes lately. I have no idea if that 45 rating is simply because they moved him from SS to 2B or if it's because of actual scouting.
