Anybody think Samsung had anything to do with the Sammy Watkins selfie with the Commish?

Freeman to Atlanta at 103. I think he will end up as the best RB from this draft class.

Pats take Bryan Stork at 105. Big center that is capable of playing guard.
Bruce Ellington goes at 106 to SF.

The 49ers are either taking the most recognizable players or having the best draft or both.

The 49ers are either taking the most recognizable players or having the best draft or both. They have the luxury of not having any glaring needs and are letting the draft play to them taking the best player available on their board. Only questionable pick, on a fit basis, from the 49ers was Borland. He is not a linebacker for a 4-3 team; he's going to be limited as a special teams player for them. Other than that, they're having a great draft.

Pats take James White at 130. 3rd down back type. Wouldn't be surprised if they take another RB later today with both Ridley & Vereen as free agents after the season.
On the clock again at 140.

I like James White. He's never been (and is not likely to ever be) a lead back, but he's not just a third-down type either. He does have that versatility to catch the ball coming out of the backfield (or even lined up out wide) and is one of the better blocking RBs in this class, but I think he can be a solid interior runner as well. He's got great vision and patience, above-average speed/quickness, and surprised with his strength during Senior Bowl week. He's not really a tackle-breaker, but he'll hit the hole hard and is not afraid of contact.

The Patriots always seem to confuse me with the order they select their draft picks. The last 3 picks have been QB/C/RB. They obviously (OBVIOUSLY) have far more knowledge then I do, but they could've came away with Marcus Martin, anyone of Tre Mason/Devonta Freeman/Charlie Sims, and then selected a QB. Grarappolo is still the last QB taken.
But as most of you have said, In the Hoodie We Trust.

I agree with your mindset on this completely in terms of letting the draft play out but clearly those doing player evaluations for the Patriots see Garopollo as someone special. (I'm not one of them.) His release is lightning quick but that's really the only trait that sets him apart from the other developmental prospects in this draft. Clearly the Patriots value that attribute and were willing to invest a late 2nd round pick to get him in the fold.

There were reports that the Texans would have taken Garoppolo at the top of round three, so New England had to grab him where they did. It does suggest that New England must have liked him a lot more than Savage or McCarron or Mettenberger, and only time will tell if that was the right read.

Jacksonville actually resembling a professional organization during this draft. Not sold on Bortles, but as you guys stated in response to Garappolo, they got THEIR guy, surrounded him with some solid WR talent to grow with. And then loaded up on talented defensive players who slid due to one reason or another. Love the Colvin pick, will miss a lot of this season but he is a player.

And the OL parade continues.
Mike Reiss @mikereiss · 6m
Patriots select Florida guard Jon Halapio w/ sixth-round pick (179th overall). Third OL picked in this draft after 0 OL in '12/'13. #NEpick
Tom E. Curran @tomecurran · 1m
Halapio tied for lowest-vertical jump among OL at the NFL Combine. 21-1.5 inches. Pats liked fact he's well-grounded.

And with the 244th pick in the draft, the Patriots select Michael Sam WR Jeremy Gallon, Michigan.

Only thing left is the Michael Sam watch.
St. Louis has back to back picks coming up, his best bet in my opinion.

And with the 244th pick in the draft, the Patriots select Michael Sam WR Jeremy Gallon, Michigan. Did you get your hopes up for Sam? And then forget to delete before writing the actual pick? He did in fact get selected by STL, couldn't have landed in a better spot, stay right in Missouri, where he blossomed as a player and a man. The way he talks about when he got on campus makes me happy he gets to stay "home". Best of luck, that's a tough defensive front to get some playing time in though.

Three TEs in the UDFA class. (Also, a LS, so we currently have 3 of those on the roster.)
The official line out of Foxboro re the Garoppolo signing seems to be "we never want to go 2-14." That's pretty disappointing to me to be honest. Pats fans find enough to whine about when the team goes 10-6, so is there really a difference between going 7-9 and 2-14, other than that you get a much higher draft pick if you go 2-14?
People compare the selection with Brock Osweiler. But when John Elway talks about Brock Osweiler, you get the feeling he truly thinks he might be a future ace, and not just a long reliever / spot starter.
Maybe BB is just more realistic than Elway about the projectability of NFL prospects. I'm just saying I would feel better about this pick if he had come out and said "we think Jimmy has the stuff to be a quality starter in this league for a long time."

My interpretation when reading those quotes was this strategy reflects BB's desire to maximize his career Win-Loss ratio

See, this is what happens when you take quotes out of context. Belichick was asked specifically about what happens when a team doesn't have a good backup quarterback when he gave that response. A reporter basically said "talk about the 2011 Colts" and Belichick said "yeah, that sucked, we don't want to be in that situation." It doesn't mean that they think Garoppolo is just an above-replacement-level guy that can win some games but has no upside. Indeed, in his post-day-one press conference, Belichick mentioned Brady's age/contract status as one of the reasons they took Garoppolo, suggesting that they think that Garoppolo could be the next franchise quarterback (he also talked a lot about the qualities he likes about Garoppolo-- accurate, smart, hard-working, etc). Don't read too much into the fact that Belichick didn't rant and rave about how they think Garoppolo can be an elite quarterback-- that's not his style and has never been. I'm pretty sure they think Garoppolo can be an above-average quarterback in this league, or they wouldn't have taken him where they did.

He is the highest they've drafted a QB, or so I have read, so they most really like him.

Didn't care for the draft, Garoppolo has bust written all over and none of the day 3 picks seem like guys who could ever start.
Hope I'm wrong, in the hood we trust I guess.

Pretty interesting article about Garopollo and how he trained in becoming a quarterback, all of it was modeled after yours truly, Tom Brady. Doesn't necessarily mean too much but he does already have some good core skills, and Jimmy knowing virtually all of Brady's antics in which made him successful has to make it easier for him to slip into a "Tom Brady mold" with Tom being there a few more years to teach him.

If the Jags end up cutting Blackmon the Pats need to sign him. He would the most talented receiver the Pats would have since Randy Moss. Does he need to cut down on the pot, hell yes, but talent like him comes a long often. I'd trade a conditional pic for him right now.
